Day 9 of 95 Players to Know Before the 2026–27 College Basketball Season series.

Day 9:
Cooper Campbell (Liberty)

The engine of a Troy squad that won the Sun Belt last season, Cooper Campbell transfers to Liberty, where he's primed for another outstanding year.

Some of Campbell's most notable performances included:

32 points, 8 assists vs. USC
16 points, 4 assists vs. San Diego State
25 points, 5 assists vs. Akron

Campbell proved to be one of the best point guards in the conference, averaging 4.7 assists/40 while posting a 23.5% AST%. He paired that playmaking ability with elite perimeter shooting, knocking down 39.4% from three on 6.1 3PA/40.

He was one of only two players in the Sun Belt to post at least a 57% TS% while maintaining an AST% of at least 23.5%.

Campbell was assisted on only about half of his made threes, further highlighting his ability to create offense both for himself and his teammates. He also ranked in the 99th percentile in Offensive Rating On/Off. Troy's offense was a staggering 20.6 points per 100 possessions better with Campbell on the floor.

Campbell also posted a conference-best 1.069 PPP on Ball Screen + Pass possessions while recording an excellent 54.4% eFG on dribble jumpers.

Campbell now joins head coach Richie McKay at Liberty, where the Flames have consistently ranked among the top teams in the conference in Offensive Rating and 3-point attempts per game.

Just like that we have reached CBB Rank - our yearly countdown toward the start of the season!

No. 100 in #CBBank is Liberty! The Flames have less proven talent than usual, but why should we doubt Ritchie McKay? He hauled in some of the best Non-D1 talent around but also got brothers Cooper and Cobi Campbell from Troy. And JUCO product Sean Register Jr. could be a high-volume scorer to keep an eye on. The Flames are No. 100 heading into the season!
