For three years I’ve watched this team experience great success that still ended in heartbreak, but this year they closed the book a different way - as State Champions. Congratulations to these guys who play with their whole hearts, their coaches who are great role models on and off the field, and their program that is a model of consistency. 🏆 🔟

They say it’s okay to have more than one best friend, but what about more than one home?

Mantachie is where I was born, where I live, and where I work. Memphis is where I was saved, medically and spiritually. Now, there’s Mooreville, where I was found.

What started as an opportunity for a new announcing gig turned into a near five year journey of personal growth. I have been welcomed, I have always been included, and I have been changed by the relationships I’ve made with so many wonderful people I never knew - despite only being separated from them by 6 miles of road.

When I pull up on campus it never fails for a dozen or more kids to holler my name or run over to greet me. They can’t wait to tell me their latest scoop or ask for advice on some obstacle they think is life-altering but actually isn’t. They ask about my family, tell me about theirs, and help me anytime they are asked. The thing about kids is, they know when they’re loved and they’ll love right back.

Thank you will never feel like enough for me to say to the students, coaches, parents, and administrators who have allowed me to pour into their community - and in turn have my own cup refilled with purpose. Thank you for finding me and helping me find myself. Thank you for being family. Thank you for letting me be a Trooper. 🖤

1 Corinthians 9:24 — “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

Thank you Jesus! Mission complete. Year 2✅
