this piece was inspired by a photo i found in my family archive. my mom looks so beautiful, real matriarch shit. this process felt like exploring what really makes a home a home, a family a family. materiality comes and goes but what lasts is the life, death, dreams, mistakes, hopes, & traumas of both the living and the dead.

my life feels most full when the veil between me and my ancestors is the thinnest. ain’t that something?

grateful for the sacrifices all those in my bloodline made to give me a chance at life n the opportunity to create new worlds! 🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍
