157 - STRATFORD WORKSHOPS: Wayfinding 🎟↔ Stratford Workshops upgrades the old 19C printworks building’s workspace offering through the redistribution of its former layout, adding a new entrance, a prominent reception, and new pockets of communal space scattered through its dense plan. The wayfinding elements directly reference the building's industrial past, highlighted by a retained I-beam that makes a striking visual statement within the space. Desk and shelf I designed and installed for @systemsstudio at the beginning of the year. The system consists of specially manufactured long bolts that enter through leg, link the subframe and fix directly into wall anchors. This allows the structure to scale as required. The ash frame extends beyond the panels to create a gap, allowing for cable access and minimising contact points with the wall. This along with the adjustable pivoting foot sees that the system addresses issues presented by irregular and uneven wall surfaces.
