Best part of teaching is getting to play in the private room! 😍🤸🏼‍♀️🥵🧑‍🩰

(ps you should totally book privates if you want to go down the road of cool tricks on the cadillac)

Fundamentals are the foundation! Fundamentals are not just a place for beginners, even as you progress you’ll still come back to those fundamental exercises—you just see them in a different way. Plus, I hope that we never quit ball rolling😝🩵

Long rant incoming, but there can be such a negative connotation around the word “modify” and I’m over it 😝 Modifications are just different variations of the exercise so that you can continue to learn and grow in your body. 🌱🦋🙌

3 main reasons I call out modifications:

1) To address those who have injuries or conditions without them feeling singled out in front of the whole class. (And no, you don’t have to have the injury/condition to take the modification.)

2) I can’t read minds on what you’re feeling! Between talking to clients and being a student myself, I’m learning where bodies tend to overcompensate during an exercise that might cause pain and discomfort. So, I’ll call out a modification to help you eliminate that pain or discomfort so that you can access the muscle group we are trying to work.

3) When I see someone just completely give up because they feel discouraged in the exercise. I try my best to teach what I know people are capable of, but it’s your body not mine. Maybe what I know you *can* do isn’t what you’re able to do for the 50 minutes of class that day. It doesn’t mean you can’t or will never be able to do the exercise—it just wasn’t in the cards that day! That’s OKAY! (And no one will think you’re weak because you choose to modify, and if they do, then they’re a sore loser)

When should I modify? WHENEVER you want because WHO CARES! You can simply do a modification just to give it a try!

It’s your body, and that mat/reformer is all yours for those 50 minutes. Learn something about your body and do the class for yourself. LOVE you all 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
