NEW ORLEANS BAKED MAC 🧀

Like most things ‘New Orleans’, this classic recipe starts with a roux and was born of cross-cultural exchange amongst the city’s neighborhoods & communties. 💡 @yinyangburgerpdx is the newest food cart at @corepdx off of 82nd Ave! They are serving up their take on burgers with an Asian twist. 🍔 I tried their Aura Fries, Bao Down Burger (monthly special) and Spiritual Burger.
Aura Fries - The cut of these fries were really unique, and the texture is similar to a jojo - which I really liked. It pairs really well with the sauces that they have. 🍟

Bao Down Burger - It is their monthly special burger and they are blending the flavors of chinese sausage and beef. It’s such a unique burger with fun flavors and textures. The cucumber really adds to the sweetness of the patty. ✨

Spiritual Burger - It is their veggie burger and this one is definitely ranked pretty high for me in terms of a veggie burger. The texture of the patty was very similar to a regular patty - I really enjoyed this one a lot. ⭐️

NOVEMBER 2ND-8TH!

An Asian-inspired twist on mac & cheese! Cavatappi tossed in a rich, creamy three-cheese blend of sharp cheddar, smoked Gouda, and Gruyère, dusted with bold Xi'an-inspired seasoning. Topped with sweet and savory five-spice candied bacon, slow-cooked in soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and some other secret seasonings. Finished with fresh shredded scallions for the perfect balance of smoky, sweet, savory, and spice.

ALSO! In the same space there is a public board game meet up! So, if you want to try out some games, or bounce between making art and playing a board game, or have a friend you want to come with, this is the perfect place.

—The world is really difficult to be in right now. The constant barrage of horrors is intended to slow us down, stop us, make us feel isolated and helpless. Coming together in community, and creating art is deeply important, and a form of resistance against the powers that don’t want us to connect and energize. Even if you don’t think of yourself as an artist, taking a couple of hours where you are making something with your hands and not doom-scrolling is so helpful.  ❤️🖤🤍💚 See you there!
