This National Physical Therapy Month, we’re celebrating the patients who inspire us every day. ❤️
Meet Helga! Following a total knee replacement on June 30th, Helga worked hard throughout her recovery and made incredible progress. Within just six weeks, she was back to walking 3 miles a day, and the following week, she was taking on hills!

Before surgery, Helga made movement a priority, walking daily and going to the gym several times a week. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that the healthy habits we build today can help support our strength, mobility, and independence for years to come.
Helga, we are so proud of your dedication and determination. Thank you for reminding us why we do what we do!

At Core Performance Physical Therapy, we’re honored to be part of our patients’ journeys back to the activities and moments that matter most. Here’s to celebrating every milestone, big and small!

October is National Physical Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating the tools, techniques, and dedicated care that help our patients move better and feel stronger.
At Core Performance Physical Therapy, we’re always looking for ways to enhance your recovery. NerveOTX is one of the tools our therapists can incorporate into a therapeutic exercise program to support muscle activation and help patients work toward their movement and strength goals.
Because physical therapy is about more than treating pain. It’s about helping you get back to doing what you love.
Here’s to the people, progress, and possibilities that make physical therapy so impactful.

“Why is my physical therapist adding @NerveOTX to my exercises?”

You’re already doing your exercises, working on your strength, and putting in the effort during your rehab. So why add another treatment?

NerveOTX can provide additional neuromuscular stimulation to complement your therapeutic exercise program and support the connection between your nervous system and muscles.

But what does that actually mean for your recovery? Here are 7 reasons your PT may be using NerveOTX 👇

1. Improve Muscle Activation
NerveOTX can help stimulate muscles that may be difficult to activate after an injury, surgery, or period of inactivity.

2. Support the Brain-Muscle Connection
Electrical stimulation provides additional neuromuscular input that can support communication between your nervous system and muscles.

3. Support Nerve Recovery
Research suggests that electrical stimulation may support motor and sensory recovery following certain peripheral nerve injuries.

4. Maintain Muscle Function
When pain or injury limits your ability to move normally, electrical stimulation can provide an additional stimulus to help maintain muscle activity.

5. Complement Your PT Exercises
NerveOTX can be incorporated alongside therapeutic exercise, mobility work, and hands-on treatment to support your overall rehabilitation program.

6. Support Strength & Physical Function
Research on electrical stimulation has shown potential improvements in muscle strength, muscle size, and physical function when used appropriately.

7. Add Another Tool to Your Recovery
NerveOTX is a non-invasive treatment that can be personalized to complement your existing physical therapy and recovery plan.

A great day connecting with the Newport Beach community!
We had the beautiful opportunity to spend time with the City of Newport Beach staff at the Health & Wellness Fair, where our team was able to provide hands-on manual therapy, answer questions, and address some of the physical therapy and movement concerns that come with everyday life and work.
A special shoutout to Dr. Delanie Gastineau for doing such an incredible job representing Core Performance, connecting with the Newport Beach staff, and helping make physical therapy more accessible to our community!
We loved meeting so many of you and sharing how physical therapy can help you move better, feel better, and stay active.
And if you saw us at the fair, consider this your invitation to come visit us! We’re conveniently located right here in Corporate Plaza, surrounded by many of the businesses and workplaces in the Newport Beach community.
We’d love to see you again, this time at Core Performance Physical Therapy!

What if your physical therapist could actually measure how strong, powerful, and balanced you are instead of relying only on how you feel?
That’s where VALD comes in.
At Core Performance Physical Therapy, we use VALD technology to collect objective data about how your body is performing. Depending on the test, VALD can help us measure things like:
• Muscle strength and force production
• Left-to-right strength differences
• Power and explosiveness
• Balance and stability
• Jump and landing performance
• Rate of force development
• Movement and performance deficits
• Changes in performance over the course of rehabilitation
Why does that matter?
Because feeling better doesn’t always mean your body is fully recovered.
You may be pain-free but still have a strength difference between your legs. You may feel ready to return to your sport but still lack the power or stability needed for your specific demands. VALD gives your physical therapist measurable information that can help identify these gaps and determine what needs more attention.
And the best part? We can test, train, and retest.
Instead of simply asking, “Does it feel better?” we can look at the data and see whether your body is actually getting stronger, more balanced, and more prepared for the demands of everyday life, exercise, or sport.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, returning to sport, working toward a performance goal, or simply want a better understanding of how your body is functioning, objective testing can give you a clearer picture of where you are and where you need to go.
Your recovery should be more than a feeling.
Measure it. Train it. Retest it.
Interested in seeing what your numbers say? Contact Core Performance Physical Therapy to learn more about VALD testing and how it can be incorporated into your care.
