My one ask was to have a cinnamon roll waiting for me at the finish line 🙂‍↕️

Yall.... I did that. 26.2 miles (and then some!) Proving to myself yet again, that I can do hard things. And that was REALLY freaking hard lol

It still hasn’t fully hit me yet.

But I’m so grateful for every person who came out to support, every text, every voice message (those were so amazing to listen to!!!), every piece of advice and encouragement from people who have been following along on this training journey.

I like to do hard things for myself but I also like to think that it’s inspiring someone out there to do hard things as well, push yourself out of your comfort zone and see all the amazing things you can accomplish. I hope.

I always tell myself, “If that person can do it, I can do it” and if I can do it, YOU can do it.

Just feeling really grateful for my community, for a healthy body that can do badass things, a fire and insanely supportive run club, and all the other people who were out their doing the damn thing, whether it was the 5K, 13.1 or 26.2 miles 👏🏾👏🏾

Now brb, gonna try to regain function in my legs lol

Today I ran my FIRST HALF MARATHON and I got to cross the finish line with my baby boy, the one who I push myself to be better for, the one I want to make the most proud! Last year I would sporadically show up to run club for the community but decided to fully commit to running more consistently back in January… and by February I decided to train for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon. BEST. DECISION. EVER! In all honesty the race was the easiest part, the training took a toll mentally and I started questioning if this was something I really wanted to do. BUT I DID IT! And I’m so thankful to my son for being patient on those long run Sundays, my family and to my run club @baddiesrun_sd led by our run club mothaaa @itsmenadifa for being such an amazing community that helped me constantly push myself to be better! See ya next year at the full ✨
