I've always loved tennis, but I've never actually seen a professional match live, so when @corimurray offered me the chance to be her guest at the @espn suite during the US Open, I said yes, not even asking what match we would be watching.

My delight doubled when I realized we were actually going to see Venus and Serena Williams compete in the first-round women's doubles match!

I LOVE the Williams sisters and how they revolutionized tennis as the marquee forces (and faces) in the sport for more than two decades! Serena is definitely the GOAT (of sports, period), and Venus ruled Wimbledon for years! Also, Williams versus Williams in a final became so common that folks forgot how good they had to be to beat the entire field consistently and make it to the endgame so many times.

With that in mind, both sisters are in their 40s now, and the fact that they were wearing these two 20-somethings out for a tight three sets was incredible. They didn't win, but what a match! It was truly inspirational. It reminded me it's never too late—especially if you have a strong foundation—to get out there and compete.

Thank you, @corimurray, for inviting me, and thank you, @espn, for hosting us! Meeting and reconnecting with people I haven't seen in a minute, like Bridgette Bartlett Royall, @sorayamcdonald, and @salamishah, was a treat! (And a shout-out to @wilsonmoralesfilm for letting us use his spotlight to take these photos!)
