July has been truly dope af.

I kicked off the month with my partner Bess at REVEL, an ecstatic dance/tantra retreat in beautiful Loveland, CO at the historic Sunrise Ranch, which has been a spiritual retreat center since the forties. This experience blew me wide open in so many ways. It felt like an apex for the inner work I’d been doing for the last several months. The container set for this event was so masterfully crafted and maintained. Every attendee glowed with the energy we all felt coming from each other and that holy ground. I reconnected to a part of myself that has been buried for so long. I spoke with God and she said to keep showing up to every moment in Love with all of life. That’s all I really feel like saying about all that, but if you know me well you’ve probably noticed the changes. I suspect those will continue to grow and manifest.

Coming straight back into a full schedule of music lessons and gigs, I knew I had integration to do and I feel like I’ve handled it well. I’ve been continuously reminded just how abundant my musical life has been and I’m beyond grateful for that. I get to play almost every night of the week with people I love dearly (and get paid for it🤯). I get to be a conduit for the transcendent, connective, healing power of music. Rad.

I got to reunite with my band from high school, Stoneface Norman, and together we played at Cain’s Ballroom for Jenks’ 20 year reunion. Seeing those guys again and swapping stories about the past and sharing wins from our lives as adults was a hallmark moment. Not to mention getting to play that famous stage for the 3rd time.

July has also brought plenty of stillness and stability in my home, in my body and mind. Lots of slow moments. Lots of softness. Mmmmmmmmm. And lots of time with my love @felicity.foxlee

I was able to share the bounty of blackberries growing in my backyard with my community of friends and fellow musicians for our first annual Blackberry Jam. This was such a special gathering for me and it unfolded as beautifully as I could have ever imagined. I feel so full and blessed by the love and talent around me.

Going into August confident and powerful. Love you.

Lately:
As the kids enjoy their first couple weeks of summer break, my schedule has been expanding with private music lessons, more gigs, more rehearsals, big plans and small moments.
Learning to savor those small moments where I’m in leisure, being grateful for the abundance of activity I find myself in since asking the universe for music every day.
I’m grateful for the love in my life and the support that keeps me going. And I’m grateful for hot dogs, regular dogs, and mandolins.

The cherry blossoms at @gathertulsa are gorgeous right now. Me and the girls took a stroll in the beautiful night air for the night walk. It’s happening thru the 27th so don’t miss it. 🌸

Celebrating our 7th anniversary and Halloween in New Orleans this weekend was one for the books. We ate, we drank, we cavorted, made friends, heard great music, and drank more than anyone ever should, ever (no regrets).

I’ve gotten a lot of good friends lately wanting advice on polyamory and dealing with the things that come up. I love that. I feel so seen and valued. But the number one thing that always gives the most reassurance is that we all feel feelings and we don’t have any idea what we’re doing. We just love each other and we make it work.
