POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Our dear friend Mick Wall recently sat down with Dónal Gallagher, Rory's younger brother, the man who kept the show on the road for the whole ride, for a proper deep, candid chinwag. Mick first met Dónal back in 1979 when Mick was doing Rory's PR, which tells you how far back these two go.

They're talking about Dónal's new book, Edged In Blue: A Rock 'n' Roll Odyssey with Rory Gallagher, an eyewitness account of Ireland's original rock star and the halcyon days of the music biz. Rory comes across as a deeply private, dedicated troubadour who lived almost exclusively for his guitar, eschewing fame, fortune, and marriage to stay on the road.

The book itself has has so many anecdotes from the golden age of live music such as Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Ginger Baker, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Howlin’ Wolf, John Peel, KISS, Blind Faith, John Lydon, Brian May, The Edge, Slash, Johnny Marr !

This is a fascinating listen. Part 1 is up now via Mick's Spotify, Apple Music and all good pods. Go on. Treat yourself.

Had a lovely chat with @sulafelyas today. Really looking forward to her Irish premiere on Saturday 25th July at 8pm in Skibbereen Town Hall.

Sulaf plays the oud (ancestor of the lute) and sings about identity, displacement, love, spirituality, and sorrow… all very relatable for an Irish audience.

She supported @tinariwen recently and talks about how special it was in this clip. Pretty cool to open for one of your heroes ❤️

Full interview coming soon.
