When you are a festival organizer, sometimes you don’t get to focus on your own stuff. Part of the deal. There’s a lot of running around and moving parts. I do set up a basic table presence each year at our @eastonbookfestival Author and Small Press Expo- or at least, with what I can carry to the next venue on foot! The expo is a great opportunity to support other independent publishers, buy books, learn more about what others are doing, and share stories and spaces. #SupportSmallPress #EastonBookFestival #CollapsePress #ArsenicPressPrintMatters #SmallPressExpo

Sometimes the water is calm,
And sometimes it is overwhelming.
All we can do is learn to swim.”

“Breaking Crown” is an old school, diy hand stapled chapbook that really takes us back to our roots with previous presses like Full of Crow. There’s just something about a chapbook. We were happy to collaborate with Richard Loranger on this project. Richard produced the books, taking care of the printing and constructing. You can reach out to him to get one, in person or we can get them in the mail. @lorangersnaps
Info at www.collapsepress.com
From the Author:

“In June of 2026, I joined an online poetry writing marathon for kicks, with nothing particular in mind, and wrote for fifteen hours straight, unexpectedly producing a crown of resistance sonnets that leaked out of me in a torrent. And here they are, proffered as a chapbook by dear old Collapse Press. Thank you, Collapsatarians! I’ve rarely felt an urgency to get any piece in particular published, but boy did I with this, as it addresses how we might approach change in our currently broken culture, and keep a clear perspective as we move along.” – Richard Loranger

Saturday! Please join us on Saturday night for a virtual bicoastal book launch for Richard Loranger’s “Breaking Crown”. About Richard:
Richard Loranger is a multi-genre writer, musician, performer, text artist, and all-around squeaky wheel, currently residing in Oakland, CA. They’re the author of Breaking Crown, a crown of resistance sonnets being released this very moment as a chapbook from Collapse Press. As well they’ve penned six full-length books of poetry and flash prose including Mammal (Roof Books, 2023), Unit of Agency (Collapse Press, 2021; second edition 2024), Be a Bough Tit (Be About It Press, 2020), Sudden Windows (Zeitgeist Press, 2016), Poems for Teeth (We Press, 2005), and The Orange Book (International Review Press, 1990), along with ten other chapbooks (okay, three of those are self-published, now you know). They also have work in over 100 magazines and journals. They’ve recently joined a multi-disciplinary performance troupe, the Wandering Ensemble, based in the East Bay of San Francisco, and have been singing and dancing away. You can find more about their work and scandals at www.richardloranger.com. #BreakingCrown #CollapsePress #RichardLoranger #RFL

Don’t take it from me (and does this sound like you?): “The Saturday write-ins and Caravan workshops have created something for me I’ve [almost] never had: a feeling of community. You three are FREAKY in a great way, and I love that about you. Usually I even hate the WORD community, but not with you.

“Seriously, you create spaces where I just watch writers relax and realize they actually don’t have to police themselves or their words in the space.

The sense of freedom the three of you communicate is remarkable, along with genuine, lived, non-poseur wokeness, and I suspect this speaks to your radical open-mindedness as humans.”

—a Caravaner we LOVE with all our Caravan hearts

Want in? You’re welcome!! Join us tomorrow (or any Saturday) 9am PT. Link in bio.
