Still processing how much can happen in one weekend. 🥹✨

@xtool.official invited me to experience the @nextlevelmakerevents Next Level Maker Conference at the Gaylord Texan, and while yes… I absolutely geeked out over getting to see some of the newest machines and what xTool has been working on 👀😂, I think my favorite part of the entire weekend was the people.

Getting to spend time with the xTool team, reconnect with creator friends, meet people I’ve only known through a screen, make NEW friends, talk all things making and small business, and even sit down for a roundtable conversation was such a full-circle experience.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that this all started with me simply sharing the things I loved to make on the internet from the corner of my bedroom one day. 🥹

I came home with a camera roll FULL of memories, a million new project ideas, and an even bigger appreciation for this maker community. Content coming so stay tuned 👀☝🏽

🪓 Engraving a Viking Axe -
This design is inspired from the video game, God of War.
I used a brush and painted on some acrylic then use a pencil to put in the runic inscriptions.

I am using the @scmengraving 400xs to engrave.

🎃 Talk Tuesday Tutorial with Matt Cornelius 🎥
Hey, everyone — Matt Cornelius here, photographer for Texarkana Magazine. Today’s tutorial is a fun throwback with a twist! I’m revisiting a Halloween carving video I filmed several years ago… but this time, we’re ditching the tiny saws and carving with a Dremel rotary tool.

This project is called “The Halloweenie” — and trust me, it’s faster, cleaner, and way easier than traditional carving. Totally beginner-friendly!

What you’ll need:
• Pumpkin carving kit (scraper, saw + punch tool)
• Small knife (to open the pumpkin — from the bottom, not the top!)
• Dremel Micro or Dremel Lite
• Dremel 191 + 106 bits (and 9910 optional for smoothing)
• Printable stencil from PumpkinLady.com
• LED tea light
• Safety glasses
• Bleach + water mix (preserves the pumpkin!)

We’ll walk through:
✅ Cutting from the bottom for easy lighting
✅ Transferring the stencil with push-pin dots
✅ Carving clean outlines with the Dremel
✅ Adding fine details + smoothing for that pro glow
✅ Sealing it so it lasts all Halloween week
