Junior golf development is about more than just playing tournaments.

Tournaments are an important part of the journey, but opportunities to get on the course with College Coaches, receive real-time instruction, and learn directly from their experience are incredibly valuable.

Actor and golf parent @Neal_McDonough experienced that firsthand when he attended an Ivy Golf Institute Camp with his son.

That’s what makes the Ivy Golf Institute experience special. It’s an opportunity to step away from tournament competition, focus on development, and learn from some of the top College Coaches in the country.

And there’s still time to experience it yourself!

MEET SHEP DAVIS. ⛳️

From Thomasville, Georgia, to the Ivy League, Shep Davis is quickly making a name for himself in collegiate golf.

A three-time All-State selection and four-time team state champion before arriving at Cornell, Davis made an immediate impact for the Big Red as a freshman.

Now entering his sophomore season, he’s continuing to raise the bar, recently firing a 5-under-par 208 to finish tied for second at the Columbia Autumn Invitational.

With a competitive mindset, a proven ability to go low, and plenty of golf still ahead of him, Davis is emerging as a player to watch.

The talent is there. The potential is undeniable. And his story at Cornell is just getting started.

Babygrande Golf will bring its “Inside The Ropes” coverage to the 48th Macdonald Cup, hosted by Yale Men’s Golf Team September 26–27 at the historic Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Connecticut.

Nick Gismondi will be on the ground in New Haven for Babygrande Golf, bringing fans closer to the tournament through player interviews, daily previews and recaps, highlights from around the course, and coverage of the awards ceremony.
The 2026 Macdonald Cup features 11 men’s collegiate golf programs, including eight Ivy League institutions:

- Brown University
- Columbia University
- Cornell University
- Dartmouth College
- Davidson College
- Harvard University
- Loyola University Maryland
- University of Pennsylvania
- Princeton University
- Seton Hall University
- Yale University

This year’s Macdonald Cup carries additional significance as competition returns to Yale Golf Course during its centennial year. Opened in 1926, the course was designed by Seth Raynor with significant influence from legendary golf architect Charles Blair Macdonald and has long been recognized as one of the landmark works of early American golf course architecture.

In 2024, renowned architect Gil Hanse began a comprehensive restoration designed to recapture the scale, strategy and architectural intent of the original course. The restored Yale Golf Course reopened in 2026 in conjunction with its 100th anniversary.

Special thanks to @lumberjack315 for granting us the privilege to participate.

Fans can follow Babygrande Golf’s Inside The Ropes coverage from the 48th Macdonald Cup throughout the weekend at BabygrandeGolf.com and across Babygrande Golf’s social media channels.

@YaleMGolf Head Coach Keith Tyburski on why camps matter 🏌️‌⛳

When he was a junior golfer chasing a college golf dream, camps like this weren't really a thing. Now they're a direct look into the recruiting process – the do's, the don'ts, and how to make a plan.

Learn from him in person at the Ivy Golf Institute Boys Exposure Camp – TPC Harding Park, Nov 7–8.

What a world.

Char Russekoff is teeing it up in the Met Open at Essex County Country Club — and he’ll be doing it in a Bird Guy hat with a Great Bird caddie towel on the bag.

Char played his college golf at Cornell, which just happens to be home to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology — the folks behind Merlin Bird ID.

He says conditions are tough and that he heard some great birds during his practice round (last pic).

Really honored to have Char repping The Bird Guy this week and later this year.

Go get ’em, Char. Great Bird Nation will be pulling for you.
