Finished my big Warrior Queen copper brooch with Cornish Serpentine for the @kernowcraft challenge for our @acjcornwall TRESOR fair this weekend, are you coming?! 🤩

It's at the wonderful @cornwall_museum on Saturday and Sunday, 10am -4pm with our sparkly pv on Fri night, 6-8.30pm: everyone is welcome 🙂

This piece is inspired by the Celtic sunburst brooch found in the grave of the Warrior Queen buried on Bryher in the Scilles; I've shared my poem for a bit of background...😍

32 Cornish jewellers have made some beautiful, original pueces inspired by narratives from the Museum's Myths and Legends exhibition: we can't wait to share them with you 🤩

See you there! X

Join me at the Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery in Truro, this Saturday for a copper bangle making workshop. Working with copper tubing and wire, you will saw, file, shape and texture to create your very own spiral feature bangle. If you like the aged look you can add patina, or if you prefer the shine polish up to a bright warm copper colour.
Book tickets via the link in my bio.
£25 Materials included.

Filmed for last year’s TRESOR jewellery fair, this video shows me going to work at my local beach. Casting recycled silver in to Atlantic Ocean seawater and texturing silver on the granite boulders firmly anchors my work to the Cornish landscape that inspires me.

George Sherwood Hunter, Jubilee Procession in a Cornish Village,1897. Oil on canvas. 130 x 216 cm.

Highlight from the Cornwall Museum and Gallery. Newlyn celebrates Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee with a Chinese lantern parade. Stunning use of light and shadow. The fiery orange and red lanterns pop so beautifully against the cool blue shadows. It creates an incredible sense of glow that these photos can't fully capture.

Positioned at the top of the stairs in the Cornwall Museum and Gallery, Truro - it's almost shoehorned in. It really needs its own wall and viewing space, placing such a beautiful painting in an awkward position doesn't give it the prominence it deserves.

Free to visit with @artfund card.
