This has been an amazing week, and one of the highlights was yesterday’s launch of one of my office’s signature initiatives, “The Young Women’s Civic Engagement Symposium” aka “Girls in Government”! It was our privilege to host young women from across Southwest Atlanta and the metro area to engage with and learn from some of the City’s “leading ladies”!! Special thanks to Mayor Shirley Franklin, Council President Marci Overstreet, Councilmember Andrea L. Boone, Councilmember Eshe Collins, COO LaChundra Burks, City Attorney Marquetta Bryan, City Clerk Corrine Lindo, DCOS Gabrielle Slade, and DCFO Youlanda Carr for bringing their expertise, wisdom and passion with these young women!! I also want to thank the National Coalition of 100 Black Women’s Metro Atlanta Chapter for partnering with us. Lastly, I’m grateful to my amazing District 11 team, led by Chief of Staff, Christa Freeman, and supported by Jordan Greene, Sydney Newton, James McGee, and Chris Lambry! And a special thanks goes out to my own daughter, Kennedi, and my niece, Kailey, for volunteering in support of yesterday’s event!
