I’ve been to @truthslinger and @oh_henry’s ‘Akili ni Nywele’ t#hree times now. And I still have one more visit in me to go.

Tomorrow is the last day to catch it before it officially closes. Be like me. Take your friends. Take your siblings. Your parents. Your cousins. Take everybody!!

Mutua, Henry, thank you. What a beautiful body of work. Truly an embodiment of reshaping how we see ourselves, and I hope it travels the globe because the world deserves to experience it too. What an incredible show of collaboration and a massive congratulations to every single person involved in bringing it to life. How absolutely dope you all are!

Today, I had the opportunity to experience Akili ni Nywele by @truthslinger the Room, reminded me of why I love being a creative.

Walking through the exhibition, I found myself looking at each piece not just as an object, but as a story. Every photograph, every detail, every creation felt intentional unique to the individual it represented.

And that’s the beauty of creativity. We can start with the same medium, the same materials, the same idea, yet somehow create something that belongs completely to one person.

There is something so beautiful about creating with individuality in mind. About seeing a person, understanding their story, and translating that into something tangible.

As a designer, moments like these remind me that fashion and art are so much more than what we see. They are expression, identity, memory and storytelling.

Creativity is beautiful because no two stories are ever exactly the same. 🤎

A woman is a translator; she takes the raw ingredients that Mother Nature provides and interprets them into joy, beauty, and precious memories.

A bouquet of flowers collected to bring vibrant colour into a home, a stick and mud transformed into a delight-filled game for a child, or a garden carefully curated to celebrate beauty—for her, it is about the happiness and satisfaction harvested from communing with nature. Every seed, blossom, and leaf is an opportunity for the transmission of delight.
