Friendly reminder! There are 30-ish bags of food waiting to be eaten by our furry family! Headed to Rocky Point this weekend? Pick up a bag (one per vehicle, it's the law in Mexico), and drop it off at @barbsdogrescue on your way into town! Thank you @whynottravelstore for being the keepers of our food!

Fresh off the trailer, a big, nutritious, delicious, and much needed load of food has just arrived at the @whynottravelstore! If you're headed to Rocky Point soon, please stop in for your gas and snacks, and also grab a bag to bring down to @barbsdogrescue!
We're located right off the highway on your way into town--watch for the big, yellow billboard. Drop off a bag, say hi to the pups, and start your RP vacation with a smile. Thank you for helping us get this fiid to the dogs--it takes a village.

Bring us a gift, and we promise our dogs will return one to you, in the form of a big, sloppy kiss!

Heading South this weekend? There's still lots of food at the @whynottravelstore that needs to hitch a ride down to the rescue. One bag at a time, the dogs will jump and howl and greet you with pure joy! If you've got a little space in your car, please stop and grab a bag on your way to Rocky Point. Thank you for helping the dogs, and enjoy your time in our little hunk of paradise!

Why is a tiny town in Arizona not far from the border of Mexico. 🇲🇽 There ain't much in this dusty part of State 48 🏜️, so it's a popular spot for travelers on their way to tourist destination Puerto Peñasco ("Rocky Point") or the amazing Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. 🌵

The story goes that when State Routes 85 and 86 were built here, their intersection formed a "Y" shape, so residents started saying they lived where the "Y" was located. Arizona law reportedly requires city names to have at least three letters, so the official name of this unincorporated town became "Why." 🤩

And if you're looking for other AZ towns with odd names, check out Nothing, Santa Claus and Bagdad! 😆

You did it! You helped us get 120 bags of food from our friends at the Why Not Travel Store to Barb's Dog Rescue, one bag at a time!
We'll restock soon, but in in the meantime, if you're headed our way, please consider purchasing a bag of poultry based dry dog food or a case of poultry based wet food to bring to the rescue! You can bring up to 50#'s of dry or five cases of wet over the border. If you have more than that, you can drop it at Why for another traveler to transport. You can always make your charitable purchases down in Rocky Point, too.
Thank you for being a friend to BDR--you guys and gals are the heroes that make our work possible!
