Digger (2026) — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ambitious, absurd, bleak, bold, frustrating, heavy-handed, strange, original, fascinating, well-acted, well-made, well-shot, and honestly kinda annoying.

I watched this on opening night in a completely empty theater. Initially, I hated it. It paints the world in a grim “we’re so fucked” light (non-derogatory), and at times it feels like just a bunch of dudes yelling at each other. The vibe switch definitely caught me off guard, and I walked out wondering what the fuck I had just watched and why anyone would make something like this but I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Then I watched it again.

And after rewatching, I think I finally got it. Or maybe I still don’t. Either way, Digger nation gained a 5 star soldier. 🫡

It’s a huge swing for the fences and somehow nails it on all levels. The acting, the production design, the on-the-nose meta-writing, the sheer audacity of the whole thing. Everything feels so deliberately crafted, and the fact that it’s been so polarizing only makes me appreciate it that much more. Tom Cruise delivers an eight-minute monologue that is genuinely one of the most impressive performances I’ve seen this year and absolutely Oscar-worthy, but the character he’s playing is so fucking grating and terrible that it’s almost difficult to fully appreciate what’s happening in the moment.

And honestly, I think initially hating this movie is completely valid. That may even be by design. I had that same knee-jerk reaction the first time around, but there’s so much more going on here than I initially gave it credit for. I love when a movie completely flips my perspective on rewatch, and this one has gone from something I hated watching to my new favorite movie of 2026.

I think this is one people will eventually (hopefully) come around to with time. It will be looked back on as a misunderstood masterpiece.🤍

The age-old question: “What’s the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?”

I think there’s a difference between something being disturbing, brutal, or shocking and something that truly gets under your skin. Some movies are all of the above. Here are 13 films that are actually fucking scary to me.

Add these to your watchlist and let me know how many you’ve seen.

Korine is a Philadelphia based ‘dark pop’ duo consisting of members Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye. The pair blends new wave nostalgia, early emo, and punk with a modern pop sensibility, contrasting upbeat rhythms against sullen, emotionally evocative lyrics. Their latest album ‘Tear’ showcases the band’s ability to blur the past and present seamlessly, creating a timeless nostalgia that could grab audiences at any point over the last four decades.
