Are you going through a health situation? I’m calling it renovation season.

I have lived through renovation before. Proof in pics below.

I remember the walls stripped to their studs, the constant noise, the dust that settled over everything. There were days when nothing looked beautiful. If someone had walked through the house in that moment, they might have wondered why anyone would willingly create such chaos.

But we “knew” something they could not yet see. It’s almost like being inside a drought but feeling a drenching rain is on the way. It’s a vision. Faith. A trust. A prompting. A blessing. Sometimes without being able to articulate it.

We held the vision of what the house would become; a home, not just in its “clothes” but the deep in your bones kind of place that comes with gathering, loving, feeling safe. A place where family bonding stitches together before your eyes.

I wonder if healing is much the same.

My body is not betraying me. It is not my enemy. It may simply be in a season of renovation.

There are strange sounds now.
Unexpected sensations.
Rooms that feel temporarily unusable. Tests, adjustments, waiting, uncertainty.

Yet none of these are the final architecture.

During every renovation, there comes a choice: to believe only what the eyes can presently see, or to remember the blueprint that has not yet fully appeared.

So today I choose to hold both.

I honor the work that is happening, even when it is loud.

I thank my body for the labor of rebuilding.

And in the middle of the dust, I keep placing before my heart a picture of what is coming.

Because every beautiful home is first imagined while the walls are still open.

Yes. I truly believe vision (faith) keeps demolition from being mistaken for destruction.

P.S. The photos below prove my renovation skills are… enthusiastic at best. 😂 Thankfully, my big magical giant (aka Dave Thompson) is the one who actually knows what he’s doing. ❤️
