I never really fit in growing up.

I wasn’t the cool kid. I didn’t have many friends. I was quiet, awkward, and usually found in the art room—the one place I felt like I belonged.

Art never asked me to be anyone else.

And somehow, that little kid is still part of me.

I’m still quiet. I still observe, read the room, and stay in my own lane. But I’ve learned I don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to belong.

Fashion for Futures brought me back to the art, creativity, and connection that have always made me feel at home.

Every journey has given me new friendships, lessons, experiences, and memories I’ll carry forever.

But the most beautiful part wasn’t always what we created.

It was who I created it with.

Fashion for Futures is so much more than a trip. It’s a reminder that creativity doesn’t stop behind the chair. There’s a whole world of fashion, art, collaboration, and possibility waiting for us.

To @ilyssawexler Juan Lino, and Maria: thank you for creating experiences that make artists feel seen, inspired, and capable of more than they imagined.

And to the stylist who’s nervous, unsure, or wondering if they’ll fit in:

Go.

Go scared. Go alone. Go anyway.

Life is too short to keep saying, “Maybe next time.”

Take the trip. Make the memories. Create the art. Let yourself be seen.

To the lonely kid in the art room:

Look at you now.

You never left the art room.

Your art room just got a whole lot bigger. ❤️

SELF CARE’S GETTING A TINI BIT BIGGER?!?!! 🍸 Self Care has officially outgrown its walls, and I don’t think I’ll ever have the words to explain how much that means to me. 🤍 (Even though this is still a lot of words bear with me)That little room was once the biggest leap of faith I had ever taken. It started as an empty space, a huge dream, and me having absolutely no idea what I was doing when it came to owning a business. Somehow, with time, patience, and so much love and support, it grew into this.
Self Care was built on one simple foundation creating a space where EVERYONE is welcome to come as they are and take a little time for some self care. It’s truly so much more than a salon. I wanted people to feel safe, celebrated, uplifted, and at home and our community believed in that vision more than I ever imagined. To every client who has sat in our chairs, trusted us with your hair, told your friends about us, celebrated our wins, and continued choosing Self Care THANK YOU! You are the reason we have outgrown these walls, and having a community strong enough to need a bigger home is something I will NEVER take for granted. And then there are the incredible women who chose to grow their careers alongside me. Watching you shine, take risks, grow, and support one another has been one of the most special parts of this journey. There are infinite reasons each of you means so much to me, and I could never fit them into one caption (I’d need a 4 part series). Anywhoooo, Self Care would not be Self Care without YOU. 🤍Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t only growing into the business owner I wanted to be I was growing into the woman I wanted to be too.Self Care has become so much more than four walls. It’s the people, support, laughs, cries,chaos, creativity, friendships, and this beautiful community we’ve built together.

Our community outgrew our first little home, so it’s officially time to give Self Care some room to grow!! 💋🍸

Coming Fall 2026, we’re opening the doors to our next chapter!! A bigger space, an even better experience, and the same heart and foundation that started it all.
