Braden Chun poured his heart into refining his game over his varsity years. Out in the outfield or wherever the team needed him, Braden was the guy everyone could count on for rock-solid defense and textbook plays. He stepped up as a true anchor for the lineup, bringing an incredible eye and a disciplined approach every time he stepped to the plate. During a stellar senior year, he held things down defensively across 30 games while flashing a resilient .356 on-base percentage to keep the offense moving. He even walked away with a well-deserved Player of the Game Award after completely taking over the field against Carson High School. Beyond the great plays and numbers, Braden will always be remembered at Green Valley for his genuine heart, his lift-as-you-climb leadership, and the way he made everyone around him a better player.
How does the intensity of college baseball compare to high school?
The intensity of college baseball compared to high school is much different. The game is a lot faster, and the competition is much higher. You have to be more focused, work harder, and be prepared every day.
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it? (College Baseball or College Life)
My biggest challenge has been learning how to do things on my own and managing my time better. Balancing homework, eating right, practicing, and everything else in one day can be difficult. I overcame it by learning how to manage my time, stay organized, and make sure I get everything done on time.
Describe baseball, and what it means to you.
Baseball is a game of failure, perseverance, and passion that teaches you to never give up. You are going to fail sometimes, but those failures help you learn and become better.
What baseball means to me:
Baseball is not just a sport that I play every day; it is a life lesson. It has taught me how to work as a team, have discipline, stay confident, and keep pushing myself to become better both on and off the field. #outfielder #greenvalley #baseball
