Happy National Red Wine Day!

A little celebration of red wines that do things their own way. Here's 6 bottles that've just landed, showcasing just a few of our new winery partners & some of their radiant reds that are here & ready for drinking.

From bold, full-bodied & spicy to light, fizzy, floral & herbaceous, these are reds that show just how much the category has to offer. From volcanic Etna reds to vibrant Italian bottles & distinctive styles from further afield, there’s plenty of personality in the mix - proof that red wine can be anything but predictable.

Here’s to drinking outside the usual, discovering new & unusual grape varieties - & finding a new favourite along the way!

В винном мире есть особый класс мест, которые сделали настоящие фанаты вина. Для них вино это не способ заработать благодаря тому что у них есть прямые аллокации на лучшие вина Мира, а возможность коммуникации с такими же фанатами как и они сами. Это такие места которых крайне мало вообще, тем они и ценны. И Villa Mas относится к ним в первую очередь. Здесь все еще можно выпить огромное количество лучших вин Бургундии по абсолютно смешным ценам, и это заставляет приезжать сюда конносеров со всей Европы.

В данный визит выбрали два винтажа 2011 и 2010 коммунального Chablis от Raveneau. И если 2011 был невероятно молод и с развитием близким к идеальному, но все же Шабли, то 2010 год просто за гранью понимания. Это вино которое по уровню экспрессии и сложности можно спутать с Batard-Montrachet от Leflaive. По ощущениям 2010 дал более зрелый виноград, что чувствовалось в аромате сразу.

А дальше был Pignan 2013 который просто все пили молча, осознавая что такой насыщенности, сложности и оригинальности можно ждать только от великого вина. Мне иногда вообще кажется что есть красные вина Rayas и все остальные…

Дальше были уже правильные эксперименты. Вина Тома Мейера справедливо наделали много шуму. Он с четким пониманием делает очень тонк

Our Commercial Director, @kofler.consulting, has been on a roll over the past few months. What began with hitting up (pretty much) every wine fair under the sun, he then took to the road & travelled between the continent’s finest hidden gem wineries in search of producers that truly deserve a place in the Morgenrot portfolio. He walked the vineyards, met the families behind the wines & listened to the passion that drives them, before bringing home the bottles to be tasted by an eager Morgenrot team with one goal in mind: to find exceptional wines that give our customers something genuinely exciting.

Whether that's a standout by-the-glass pour, the perfect pairing for a new menu, an undiscovered grape variety for an independent wine shop, or simply a bottle with a story that gets people talking - these are the wines we're always searching for.

Our newest producer partners come from across Europe, but they're united by one thing: a passion for crafting wines with real character, authenticity & a genuine sense of place.

Happy Wine Wednesday! ☀️🍷🇪🇸

This pairing was fantastic! 🤩💯 Pork cheeks and Carignan! 🍷

Slow-cooked pork cheeks cooked with soffritto, red wine, tomato paste, bay leaves, veal fond and spices. Served with creamy mashed potatoes. So delicious! 🤤

Paired with Costerduo Velles Vinyes 2017, Gratalopps, Priorat. Carignan. Single Vineyard, 75 years old Bush Vines. Ages 12 months in French Oak.

Dark ruby color with red hues. Scents of blackberries, raspberries, cassis, cedar and herbs. Fresh, complex, elegant, juicy tannins and well integrated acidity. Notes of dark cherries, ripe plums, licorice, dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs and spices. Long finish! Perfect match!

En magisk tjejkväll m bästa Karin @grapewild Get @reshare_app • @grapewild ÅH åh åh TJEJER 🌸 Jag vet inte, men visst är ett något speciellt när vi bara träffas vi. Vi tjejer. vi pratar om andra saker, har all plats, slipper ämnen som … kretskort och skruvdragare. Vi kan prata om hur det KÄNNS att flytta ihop, om valet av tyg på soffan och om relationer på jobbet.

Jag blev inbjuden att hålla en vinprovning på fina @trattoriaerikstorp i Landskrona tillsammans med @skumpahelena som fyllt lokalen med ett helt gäng tjejer för en helkväll och dukat upp med vårblommor. Med vin och Erikstorps pizza och alla fick en så himla fin goodoebag. Tack @digsnacks @sthalceramics @brunsproducts @gridelli @newbotanic.official 💕.

Så kul att möta personer som ska med på Emilia-Romagna resan, att ett helt gäng från Malmö kom, en från Stockholm, folk från Helsingborg och personer som kom fram och sa hej som lärt känna mig på illa sett. Så fint att få träffas!

Som vanligt väljer jag ut och skräddarsyr mina provningar helt efter tillfälle. Alltid med enbart hantverksviner. Denna gång tog jag med fyra viner från @mwines.se portfölj några av dem går snart att köpa på Systembolaget !!

WOW-vin. Visade sig att även tjejgänget älskade ett kraftfullt rött i glaset med SÅ många lager. Priorat från några få hektar på branta svårodlade marker. Plommon, körsbär, vanilj, kola, varma jordgubbar. @costerduo

Date night 90's style...😅🎉🕺🍷

This was the first dinner my hubby made for me in 1990. Old memories...💖 We wanted to see if we would like it today?😉

Magret de canard, gratin dauphinois, tomates à la provençale, fagots de haricots verts au lard et sauce vin rouge.

(Duck fillet, potato gratin, tomatoes provençal style, green beans wrapped in bacon and red wine sauce)

And yes it was still very good. I should skip the gratin as it was too fat 😅...but so delicious.🤤 (Potatoes, garlic and cream).

Paired with Costerduo Priorat DOQ 2019, Gratallops. (Blend Carignan, Grenache and Merlot). Old vines.

Området ligger i södra delen av Katalonien i Spaniens östra sida
Där produceras högkvalitativa viner som anses vara högt ansedda

@costerduo gör lite mer eleganta viner av druvorna cariñena & garnacha

- Pi Nou har en fylligare stil med en lätt bärig ton
- Costerduo lite elegantare och aningen mer tanniner
