On this evening, remembering my time @europeangraduateschool fondly. It has been 12 years since I was last on campus in Saas-Fee, which is, in some sense, a very embarrassing amount of time to have had a phantom there, upon it; riding my back. But the sense of freedom and dignity that the work arouses for me is worth its weight in honey. As if it were no more than 1.

@counterpathspace TONIGHT 4/27 at 7PM
Doors Open at 6:30PM
7935 East 14th Avenue, Denver, CO

It’s an honor to present work in #denver tonight!! I’ll be reading from my two books of poetry and analog photography, before the screening of the feature film Body Prop.

“On April 27th, M Woods will screen their critically acclaimed experimental feature film BODY PROP, at the vital hub for independent publishing, Counterpath (7935 East 14th Avenue, Denver, CO). Woods will also be marking the official publication launch for their self-produced, limited-edition volumes of analog photography and poetry, reading selections before the movie presentation.”

Body Prop is an avant-garde essay film and attack against the ontology of white imperialism. Made of mostly hand-processed super 8 film - the rejected pieces of film used in other pieces of The Numb Spiral. The piece, in five movements, takes on the subject of the Body as a prop, as a body politic, as a simulation, and as a necropolitical expense, creating a “Cadaver Decomposition Island” of discarded scraps of Super 8 and archival material reveal the shadow of US nihilism within the advanced stage of hyperreality.

With support from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and Lightcone, on April 9th, 2025 Disassociative Productions and the renowned hub for independent art, Rhizome DC, present a screening of the radical independent film, COMMODITY TRADING: DIES IRAE, directed by M. Woods (link: www.thedigitalsickness.com )

The perfect movie to play within miles of the billowing sulfur of Trump’s infection, Commodity Trading is an attack fashioned against fascist states. This is a cinematic document chronicling the infectious American nightmare circa 2015-2020. When properly projected, this premium grade Media Rx induces trance states, priming the audience for the infiltration of the Numb Spiral. Using hyper media collage of digital and analog sources, this Disassociative production is best taken sober and in the dark. You are already in a hallucinatory zone of pure nothingness.
