Angle was weird and was waiting for a unicorn shot to help make extraction easier. Let's have a lil fun this Saturday and join our High Five Dive Spearfishing Competition! 🎯 We've been hosting it the past few years and it’s been a hit since it's human power only! We call it high 5 because the format is points based for the 5 biggest fish you can get, but they all need to be different species. We hold a raffle after the weigh-ins and our very own board member will be making some tacos with the fish 🫵 caught! Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025 Time: Check-in at 8:00 AM | Final weigh-in at 3:00 PM Location: Windansea Beach (bottom of Gravilla Street) Rules & Format: Dive anywhere you like, but human power only. No motorboats but kayaks or SUPs are OK Freedive spearfishing only – no scuba 5 fish limit: one fish per species Scoring: 1 point per fish + 1 point per pound (max 10 lbs per fish = 11 points) Minimum size: 12” unless state regulations require more (halibut, calico, WSB, etc.) No sharks or rays Open to SDF members only Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies Biggest fish trophy After Party: We’ll host a cookout and gear raffle after the weigh-in. Please bring a fish to donate, or a dish to share—we’ll be making tacos! Notes on the raffle: Competitors will receive one raffle ticket for showing up at the check in and weigh in, and an additional ticket for each fish they weigh in (max 6 free tickets) Additional tickets will be for sale (cash, card, or venmo) at the event You need to be present to participate in the raffle
