This outrageously, gorgeous girlie will be winging her way to the great US of A soon to one of the loveliest people I had the fortune of meeting in person at the NARBC Tinley show!
I can't wait for her new owner to see her in person! She's almost doubled her weight over the last few months on Gecko Nutrition and her 2x weekly bugs! I am soo thrilled at her progress and how her spots are developing! Seems like there's new red spots every time I see her!!

MEET BANDERSNATCH

Yesterday, we introduced The Reptile Club and opened its Registry to the public. Today, we want to show you one of the animals whose history it preserves.

Bandersnatch is a remarkable crested gecko produced by Tara Leigh’s Cresties. The deep contrast tiger patterning, warm base color, and unmistakable profile make this an animal worth remembering.

Bandersnatch’s registration includes producer-confirmed lineage from Tara Leigh’s Cresties. That confirmation preserves the connection between Bandersnatch, his recorded ancestry, and any offspring later linked to him in the Registry.

The Certificate of Pedigree shown here is generated from Bandersnatch’s public Registry record and carries the permanent Registry identity RC–2H588Y9E. Anyone can view and confirm that record without creating an account.

Thank you to Tara Leigh’s Cresties for allowing us to feature such a beautiful gecko and for helping preserve its history.

THE REPTILE CLUB IS OPEN

For centuries, breeders of horses, hounds, and prize stock have kept their lineage in studbooks, bound volumes that traveled with the animal and held its history. As these traditions matured, public institutions formed to keep them. The Jockey Club. The Kennel Club. The Cat Fanciers’ Association. Each one a public body, gathering the records of thousands of breeders into a single register, open to anyone.

No equivalent institution ever formed for reptiles. Breeders kept their own records regardless. Spreadsheets, notebooks, photographs that traveled with the animal. Some breeders kept careful files for decades. Others did not. With no common standard and no body to maintain continuity, many of the earliest lineages faded with the people who bred them.

What was missing was not only the record. It was the institution behind it.

Today, The Reptile Club and its Registry open to the public.

Each approved registration becomes part of the permanent public record and receives a Certificate of Pedigree. Anyone can search the Registry and inspect a registered animal without creating an account.

Only the breeder can confirm that they produced an animal or add registered parents to its pedigree.

HatchLog is The Reptile Club’s official free companion app for your collection management and is available in open beta on Google Play and through Apple’s TestFlight.

Six breeding programs serve on the Crested Gecko Morph Committee and recommend the content of the Crested Gecko Morphs Standard through a public process.

Welcome to The Reptile Club.
