Absurdly good roast chicken at @thekeelsonleith 🍗

A day out with "The Lads" called for stomachs to be lined. We ordered a full chicken between 4, sides of leeks in romesco, potatoes, carrots & frickles. It was a brilliant start to the day with a couple of pints sat watching the football ⚽️

I'll be calling back in again soon.

@fullcirclebrew Wellbeing Day // 6.4% IPA

Back in December we had the privilege of being asked to participate in a brew day at Full Circle. Obviously we jumped at the chance. We had a superb day full of many beers, many laughs and I learned a lot about the industry. The hospitality we were shown was second to none. This isn’t a paid ad. A business and more like a tight-knit family which really do care about sustainability and the community. Big love to Full Circle.

The beer is really good. Obviously I am biased so please go pick one up either online direct or any of your local indie bottle shops. Aroma and flavours have come out wonderful. A hazy number which you can have can after can. Drink responsibly, or don’t.

WELLBEING DAY
IPA 6.4%

It's finally here! After months of organising, decision making, the brew day, the fermentation wait and canning we have the finished product.

The great guys at @fullcirclebrew along with the assembled "aficionados" below (FC's terminology not mine!):
@beer_food_movies @cowboydranks @beerboasting @beerswithbeev @theonlyinchle @the_boozy_cook and @beerbayben (me!)

We, as a group, deliberated over the recipe back in the autumn, finally settling on the following...

- NEIPA aiming for 6.5%
- 25% of grain bill as wheat/oats
- Whirlpool hop bill: Mosaic, Columbus.
- Dry Hop bill: Riwaka, Nectaron, Citra (Equal Split)

That was basically the plan, brew day came - all went to plan. We had a list of beer names collated (some more controversial than others) but it was down to @jordancrulley to pick the final name and get the artwork sorted.

Fast forward a few weeks and here we have the final product for all to enjoy and the name/artwork just sums it all up perfectly. Myself and Stu @beer_food_movies managed to have the first pours from keg at the brewery last week and it tastes/smells great. Now I've managed to sample and delve into cans at home, here's my (hugely biased) views below 😉

A dank, earthy, savoury and passionfruit nose. Citrusy and peachy with a skunky edge. Herbal with a little cracked pepper working in combination with a mid bitter bite on the back end. Aftertaste of grassy yet juicy hops.

Finally just a big thanks to @jordancrulley @ben_fcbc @ross.mclane and all the team at @fullcirclebrew for allowing us to come in, basically mess around but ultimately make a great beer. Cheers 🍻

A most successful brewday was held last week at the very hospitable @fullcirclebrew to brew an IPA with other incredibly famous beer influencers based in the North East.

Available some time in Jan with a name that may mention rats, mice or wellbeing days.... I'll be sure to post it on here when it drops. Get yourself a 6 pack or 2.

Full Circle Brew Day 🍻

Great day yesterday at @fullcirclebrew brewing up something special. Keep an eye out in January for when it'll be released.

Coming about from a chat with @jordancrulley and @ben_fcbc at the Full Circle Fest a few months ago, an impromptu idea that I didn't think would actually come to fruition but yesterday came a reality.

Thanks to everyone including @ross.mclane at Full Circle for the opportunity, hospitality and insight. Making sure we were all fed and "watered" throughout the day. Also really interesting, having a peek into the new unit that the brewery will expand into in a few months time.

What a Wellbeing Day! 🍻

Had an amazing day at @fullcirclebrew helping brew a new beer and getting a proper deep dive into the brewery. A few of us beer geeks shared some hop suggestions a few weeks back, and yesterday those ideas became reality!

We also had plenty of fun debating a name for the beer 🍺 (still to be fully decided!)

Huge thanks to Ben, Jordan and the whole team for the brilliant tour and the unreal hospitality — pizza, beers and some great insight into this outstanding brewery.

A reminder that beer is as much about people as it is about pints ❤️🍻

A FIRST FOR PHANTASM

We’ve seen kegs, cans but for this collab with our good friends at @saltairebrewery we’ve created the first ever Phantasm hop cask-brewed beer 🤙

PHANTASM OF THE HOPERA is a 4.5% ABV New England Pale Ale. Juicy, zesty, citrus with the iconic Phantasm grape aroma makes this beer a proper fruit bowl. Light with a little haze on it. Get stuck in.
