Reflecting a year later on my @festivalflora experience with Mikey @putnamflowers @rosandichstudios 🌾 I met the most beautiful Spanish florists that I’ve come to love and cherish. @ines__refugio @cl0r0f1la @gokce.studio @wildsage.flowers @ana_castineyra_works Not unlike most jobs with Mikey this was a journey of discovery, collaboration and mutual trust to build these floral tapestries in the Mosque courtyard. Eight years ago when I moved to NYC to work for @putnamflowers I would have never dreamt I would end up alongside Mikey across an ocean designing a gigantic floral tapestry in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Nothing quite like a wild statement piece made from local treasures and foraged finds. I have to say, Barcelona has one of the most incredible wholesale produce markets I’ve ever visited. As wild, abundant, and sprawling as the markets I’ve explored throughout South America. The moment we walked in, I was completely inspired. I knew immediately that I wanted to create an overflowing still life for our dear Olga’s wedding. To give the piece its wild, sculptural shape, Thanh @princess.mai.blooooooooms ventured into the woods surrounding our property and came back with the most incredible (and incredibly thorny!) hawthorn branches. Paired with the abundance of beautiful fruits and produce from the market, it all came together so naturally. A little wild, a little unruly, and full of life. Just how I love it! A huge thank you to Andrew @cowboypetals for the beautiful fruit styling and to @detallerie for keeping everything on track and spirits high through one very wild and rainy day! There’s something so special about creating with what a place gives you. A little love letter to Barcelona, its markets, and the beauty of things found along the way. ❤️

Christian @aknvas @christianjuulnielsen wanted wild and witchy, as if everything had been plucked from an overgrown cemetery in the darkest hours of the night. Layers of brambled branches and tangled vine, feral moss and lichen, and the faintest touch of blue softened the wildness, creating a beautiful transition into the collection (which btw is the SWOONIEST collection!) We built these moments spilling from oversized leather bags, embracing the chaos of nature and all the beauty in its perfect mess. What a collaboration! One I will cherish forever 💙 It’s rare to find a creative brand that aligns with you so seamlessly. Not only aesthetically, but in spirit. Beyond being the most GORGEOUS collection, Aknvas is built with the kindest ethos. A true creative powerhouse, filled with heart, imagination, and an extraordinary sense of community. They have come to feel like dear friends. Christian has created a brand that is incredibly special—a world filled with warmth, generosity, and more talent than I could ever put into words.
