Last-minute decision. Two weeks to put together and perfect an entire routine. And she walked away with 1st place! 🥇

So incredibly proud of Madison for stepping outside her comfort zone, taking on the challenge, and giving it everything she had. Watching her confidence grow through martial arts is the best. 🥋❤️

Way to go, Maddie! You crushed it! 🥇✨

What a weekend! 🥋🏆 The Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth was our second tournament of the season, and we had SO much fun!

We came home with 8 first-place medals as a family — 2 for Matthew, 2 for Chris, and 4 for Maddie! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

But this weekend, we’re especially proud of Maddie. ❤️

She was supposed to compete in the Champion division, but she ended up being the only girl in her age/rank division. She had the option to “compete” by herself and automatically take first in each category, or she could step outside of her division and compete against higher-ranked athletes in the Recreational division.

For Maddie, it wasn’t about collecting titles or taking the easy first place. She wanted to actually compete. She wanted to challenge herself, compete against other athletes, and see what she could do.

So she stepped up and competed in the Green Belt division — two ranks above her Yellow Belt — and still took 1st place in all four categories! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

She works incredibly hard, and watching that hard work turn into moments like this is pretty amazing. We couldn’t be more proud of the athlete she’s becoming, but even more so, the determination, confidence, and character she’s developing along the way.

Keep pushing yourself, Maddie. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes you! ❤️🥋

First tournament and THREE first-place finishes! 🥋🥇🥇🥇

Maddie walked into her very first Taekwondo tournament this weekend ready to go, and it definitely showed! She took 1st place in all three of her categories — forms, weapons, and one-steps — for her age and rank. Not too bad for her first time competing! 😉👏

She had so much fun and is already counting down to the next tournament in a few weeks. And I think it’s safe to say her black belt Dad is just a little proud to see her out there following in his footsteps. 🥹🖤🥋

So proud of you, Maddie girl! ❤️
