An input occurs. The system responds. Something new emerges.

At MULTIfest 2025, Toronto electronic duo Pick a Piper, @pickapiper Brad Weber (Caribou) and Sophia Alexandra, paired their warm synths, intricate percussion and ethereal vocals with reactive visuals by generative artist Alexander Melvin, evolving with the music in real time.

Angelina Almanza’s @angelina.almanza Resonance brought eight electronic singing pillars into conversation, generating an emergent composition of harmony and dissonance.

Luc Palombo’s @lucp.xyz Cargo Poetry turned STACKT into a collaborative WebAR canvas, building an evolving poem through audience participation.

Three approaches to art shaped by participation, response and chance.

More from MULTIfest 2025 as we look ahead to << Ripple Effect >>.

Mutek was an absolute dream! We loved seeing our friends perform. We loved seeing artists we've been lifelong fans of perform. We loved getting to spend time with so many friends. The ticketed venues, the free open air stage, the level of detail, and care for production are unmatched.

BLOOM 2026 🌸🦋🐸 YEAR 4 MINI CAM PHOTO DUMP + long ass heartfelt post.

It always takes me a little while to process the magic we all create at Bloom. This project, this space, and the people who gather here to create this container are so incredibly special to me.

Many of you have quite literally watched me grow up. My first Om/Solstice was when I was 21, and now I’m 35. Not many people can say they’ve shared so much of their adult life with the same people and I feel so incredibly blessed for it.

The relationships I’ve built, the friendships that have endured through so many years and chapters, are priceless to me. They give me an opportunity to reflect on the person I have become and realize I have become a person I can be proud of. They also help remind me that despite all my humanness, mistakes and countless ruptures; the work towards repair matters; sitting in discomfort matters, we can co exist with those we may have boundaries with and who we’ve been hurt by (to an extent) and I am and we are all still loved, valued, and good.

This year, I watched so many people navigate hurt and complicated histories with so much work and grace. Things arnt always easy, but there was room for everyone to exist, laugh, cry, connect, and experience Bloom together. I’m incredibly proud and inspired by everyone’s work around this. To show up and work across differences. To me, working along side people we disagree with or who we don’t get along with, amicably, is abolitionist and revolutionary.

Four has always been one of my favourite numbers, and Bloom Year 4 was the best one yet! Yes, I’m sad it’s over. So much love, labour and literal chaos from my besties and I has come to an end (for now); but I’m also feeling really at peace with the ending; just deeply grateful & proud of what we made, what we’re capable of together and excited for what’s next.

Special thank you to my girlfriend @milabright_photo . It genuinely makes me emotional realizing that it really can be this joyful, calm and loving. 🌱💗

Watch out for my Bloom 2026 set dropping soon :) ILYASFM

Every now and then you get these moments that come into your life that you never want to end.
For me @riverandsky is the definition of that statement.
I feel so blessed to have met some really incredible and talented people up there. Making new friendships, the deepening of existing bonds and being surrounded by nature is exactly what I needed.
It was so healing.
What an unforgettable experience 🥲🫶🏻🌄
Thank you <3

Closing out our artist posts is not one, not two, but FIVE excellent DJs from our friends at Stereo Ferment!

OREKU
Oreku is a producer, DJ, and co-head of Toronto-based label Stereo Ferment, crafting a sound rooted in the cultural intersections of dance music. With a deep appreciation for folk-disco, psych funk, techno, and leftfield club sounds, his genre-fluid sets aim to surprise and energise dance floors.

COY HASTE
Brad Weber, aka Coy Haste, is a producer, DJ, drummer, and co-runner of Stereo Ferment. His sets blend cosmic disco, breaks, electro and psych-boogie, with a keen sense of genre fluidity that keeps things fresh.

LANACONDA
Lanaconda blends styles ranging from house, techno, club, electro, minimal, UK funky and bass. No matter the genre her sets are dirty, earthy, sexy and will get your booty shakin’. Her passion for community, celebration and the earth underpin the themes in the music she plays.

LEGS FLORENTINE
Legs Florentine is the Toronto-based DJ, known for crafting deeply textured sets rooted in the soul of house music. His selections move fluidly through jazz, funk, Afro, Latin, and beyond—blending groove and rhythm into immersive, dancefloor-driven journeys.

ASTROLOPE
Astrolope’s music explores themes of imagining a better future, feeling like an outsider to humanity itself, or otherwise becoming immersed in some indescribable vibe. Wielding his one-of-a-kind modular synthesizer system, Astrolope’s unique strain of ambient electronica never fails to coax his listeners into hypnotic and curious mental states.

You can catch Stereo Ferment’s acts Thursday on the beach, Friday night at the Pine Grove Lounge*, and Saturday night at the Pine Grove Dance Party!

*In working with new sound curfews introduced by the municipality, Friday night at the Pine Grove will be a dialled back version of the dance party.
