We made MUTINY! in Pirates Cove with the most swashbuckling and scurvvy-ridden crew of all time. Stay tuned for more plots of physical feats and social deception from us and @oliviaraineee

Peter wore coat, girls stayed lost in pool, bella and Maddie found their Skunk and Raccoon doppelgängers, Olivia got tricked by Whitney Houston slot machine, River won MUTINY!, Tillie laughed maniacally in little pool and so SO much more. We were truly in (his dominion.) I love my scurvvy infested friends and this strange place full of pirate mannequins servicing face and parrot.

(Also it’s our !!!2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! since our first date to Joker Foile a Deux, and we are the luckiest birds who ever were. We are partners in everything always, best friend conspirators and lovers in the nighttime. HE IS BENEVOLENT)

EMERGENCY CALL

Peter slate! Sweet

The gang including strongest ally beautiful in white dress

Okay girl !

OKAY GIRL!

Where IS IT? #looking

Who is the man in the coat ? Will we ever know

Love at night!

Little miss looks off into the distance

Peter on throne also being sweet

Day one tries to lick me

Okay torches!!

Bum

Live from the DR room it’s the couple of the century

Kissing !

We love this project and can’t wait to tell you more of all our d-evil schemes and situations. WE ARE PIRATE STRONG

“MUTINY, THE GAME OF MUTINY!
WHAT A TREACHEROUS GAME WITH A VILLAINOUS PLOT THAT MIGHT LEAVE YOU A-SEA!”

-Maddie Rostmeyer, MUTINY! legend

“I understand that in our work…what’s important isn’t fame or glamour, none of the things I used to dream about—it’s the ability to endure”-Anton Chekhov, The Seagull

Thank you to the astonishing @twentysomethingsnyc, @riotacttheatre ,and the incredible cast and crew of Dirty Bird for a challenging and life affirming ride.

// whether the weather //
you search and search to find your place. your people. your purpose. you skim your knees. but you build scar tissue. and unbeknownst to me it was going to hit me like a tidal wave august / sept of 2026. i got to meet the culmination. everything ive spent my life chipping away, building, curating, fucking up, finding lightening in a bottle… it all arrived for this moment. to be embraced, aligned, challenged, humbled… and to find a proving ground to trust my work. and myself. and for an audience to overwhelmingly respond to the dna and veinwork. brooklyn resuscitated me. the streets, the trains. they all whispered to me every day. every walk. inside those rehearsal rooms we risked, failed, fought, loved, succeeded… all of it. to witness aj and river do the fourth act for the first time. to watch mary dig deep masterfully. to watch trevor play. to see fiona shed her makeup for the first time. for the last dress rehearsal to force the entire audience of producers, designers to jolt to our feet at bows. screaming, sobbing. i lost my voice that night bc i coached this gang w/ every fucking fibre of my being. best i knew how. i put my whole soul into this. that’s why theatre matters. there’s not traceable ROI other than thee process and how it changed you. it’s anti-corporate. punk. i’d do it 100 times again. we built a team. we bet on each other. so passionately. to give life to ten characters all searching to not be alone. cost something. it has to. to be worth it. much was put on the alter. the experiment worked. the point in life isn’t to accumulate accolades. but it’s to learn as much as you can and then when it’s your turn, to pass the baton to the next generation. to inspire them in such a way that you’re forever linked. to send the elevator back down. river was 16 when they saw me direct chekhov. and almost a decade later they passed it forward to the next batch of artists. that’s the answer to the test. core memories. for the vault. what a lucky guy i am. endure. EXTINCTION. thank you brooklyn. and thank you anton. can’t wait for the next.

“a thrilling rebellious piece of theatre” five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

// manifesto //

i found something in NY - a resuscitation. this community of like-minded renegades. a family. a haven. these artists gave me new oxygen that filled my lungs, electrified my nerve endings in lifesaving ways. we broke new ground on this. im so fucking proud of each and every member of the cast and crew. what a unified laboratory. it taught me. humbled me. inspired me. fortified me. a giant privilege. thank you to @twentysomethingsnyc for masterfully creating the perfect landscape for such passion and invention to thrive. we took massive risks. we bet on each other. and the experiment worked. anton would be thrilled. we got to the chest cavity and pounding heart of his play. deliberately and aggressively doing away w/ all things archaic and false. redefining. stripping away restoration paint to get to the initial sketch. the brutal, jagged truth.

brick by brick… this was so special. honest and radical. the chekhovian DNA, ethos through and through. the charge is to follow what burns internally and to let it reduce you to a symphony of ashes. what a miraculous thing. a transcendent chapter.

KONSTANTIN
Needs to be new. New forms. We need new forms! Something more. Better than before. In every way. To shake it up! We need to shake it up. Shock its system. To tear at its seams. Break every bone. Every set of eyes. To wake up. To improved sight. Every bit of normal needs to be blown apart. A new page by going back to old books. To what actually matters and moves you. Raw, visceral, blisters and blood. By tearing up the entire manual. To give a shit about what’s in front of us more than what’s born by wires. Alive to live. To hold a mirror up to nature. Or whatever. Where our heartbeats sync up in real time. In the darkness of the same room. At the same moment. A cathedral of strangers. Becoming one entity. The electricity of the unknown. We need it. A cultural IV. And if we can‘t, if we let it happen, if we let it go away in exchange for something utterly soulless... then fuck it. Rather nothing.
