The Blugolds of the Week are Carter Quackenbush and Bella Hooker!

Carter ran his first indoor 5,000m and made the most of it! He raced his competition and wasn’t afraid to take the lead when the pace slowed. He finished second in his heat in 15:17!

Bella ran a strong mile at the Stout Quad! Coming through the 809 in 2:31 she ran the final 800 solo. She won the race in 5:04.60, missing her PR by half a second. She’s ready for the conference championships!

Dear Cross Country,

From the moment I first laced up my shoes and won imaginary races at night, I knew I loved you. I gave you everything, my mind, body, spirit, and soul. And no matter what comes next, I’ll always be that kid with rolled-up socks, posters on the wall, an open road ahead, and a head full of dreams.
