Planning your summer family photos and wondering what to wear? ☀️ Choosing the right family photo outfits can make all the difference!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My biggest tip? Dress for the experience—not just the photo. Family photo sessions are full of movement, cuddles, laughter, and chasing little ones, so comfortable clothing always photographs better than something stiff or restrictive.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My favorite tips for summer family photo outfits:
🤍 Choose warm neutrals, earthy tones, and soft, muted colors.
🌿 Mix textures like linen, cotton, and knits instead of lots of bold colors.
👒 Add simple layers like a denim jacket or hat for extra dimension.
👟 Keep kids’ shoes simple—canvas sneakers, sandals, or bare feet always photograph beautifully.
✨ Skip stark white, and busy patterns that can distract from your family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re looking for family photo outfit ideas, summer family picture outfits, or wondering what to wear for family pictures, my latest blog has all my best tips (plus real outfit inspiration from one of my favorite beach sessions!).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Save this post for your next family photo session, share it with someone planning family pictures, and check out the full blog through the link in my bio!

Golden light, sandy toes, endless giggles—and yes, a few toddler tantrums too 😉🌊

This beach family session was everything summer should be: joyful, a little wild, and full of love in every frame. Because real memories are made in the in-between moments.

Jess (and Craig) Thank you for loving me from 2,000 miles away and always letting me capture your family. I am in awe of what you have created together and love you both so very much!

I only have one BIG pet peeve when it comes to social media....and it's that there is NEVER enough time/space to adequately show off the weddings (and details) from every wedding I shoot each and every year (and no one seems to read blogs anymore to make blogging worth the effort...tell me if I'm wrong)!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
THIS WEDDING (albeit 4 years ago) WAS A STUNNER AND SO DANG UNIQUE!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, they celebrate their 4 year anniversary, and I can honestly say I have YET to shoot another wedding day like theirs!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rachael is a lover of all things breakfast/brunch, so she had the genius idea of having her wedding in the morning and hosting one big BRUNCH and it was AMAZING!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She executed each and every detail perfectly, and I love when brides make their day unique to them, and think out of the box, and that's exactly what she did!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wish instagram allowed more than 10 images per post...because her whole day was pure magic!! Full of love, emotion and laughter.....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And you KNOW it's a party when the party ends with Craig's pants off on the dance floor !!!! HA!!!

Grammom Lafferty is with Popop now, she was the matriarch of the family and the mortar that held the bricks together. She was a fun loving, funny, and boy did she lover her eagles and Phillies. On game days you could hear the woo woo woo all the way across the house. She had a great run, almost 96 years. Her mind was always sharp, even if her hearing went she still could hold a conversation. After several "WHAAATT" She was never one for long phone conversations, but we didn't need it. It was always fun calling her and be called everyone else's name except mine lol. She said we all sounded the same on the phone. She'll be missed for sure, but I'm glad Popop has his polish princess back, and will have someone to make his dagwoods in heaven ❤️❤️❤️

It’s been the World’s busiest day and I’m just getting on here to FINALLY wish my very two favorite humans the HAPPIEST ANNIVERSARY EVER! I met them 5 years ago, they got married 4 years and yet it feels like I have ALWAYS known them. I can’t imagine one without the other and I am SO grateful that they took a chance on a girl they didn’t know 2,000 miles away and flew me to NJ to shoot one of the best days of their lives!!! LOVE YOU BOTH SO DANG MUCH!!!

First came love, then came marriage now they have a baby in the baby carriage (or in this case they brought their bob stroller to the beach 😂) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have watched these two grow into a BEAUTIFUL family and honestly they are one of my biggest east coast blessings! Their friendship means the world and being able to freeze a moment in time in their journey is such a huge blessing! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @Jess ica_lynn_11313 started as a #brookesbride but has taken motherhood by storm! It was something she always wanted but DAAANG does she make it look GORGEOUS! I have never seen her smile so big!!
