🌊 BIMS 2024 Conference Highlights🌊 Two weeks ago, I joined the Black In Marine Science (BIMS) Conference in San Diego, and it was the most exciting few days in a while. From connecting with amazing people to exploring new ways to protect our oceans, here are my favorite moments: 📖 Ocean Literacy Learning how social media can spark action for ocean conservation. 🎤 Inspiring Leadership “*We are here for each other; we are here for the ocean*” – @deepseadawn Dr. Dawn Wright’s words were so powerful. 🎙️ Making Science Relatable Discussing how to share science in ways that connect with everyone. 💆‍♂️ Wellness Matters Self-care is just as important as the work we do! 🛳️ Behind-the-Scenes Science Exploring the research vessel *Sally Ride* was a highlight! Here’s to making waves for a better future! 🌊✨ #BIMS2024 #OceanConservation #ClimateResilience #Inspiration
