Tough day down the forgotten pond yesterday! As usual the crazy amount of floating weed made it hard but what comes with weedy venues is some proper dark gnarly carp and this one is no exception! 🤯 .

After a hard first 24 hours on Big Hayes at @todber_manor_fisheries the fish finally turned up down our side of the lake and started showing numbers out near our opposite bank! With this we adjust our tactics and got some solid bags out near where the fish were showing and it didn't take long for one of our rods to burst into action! My brother was first to the rod and this one ended up being the first of 2 fish within a 10 minute window!

On this session my solid bag hookbait choice was a bright orange Squid and Plum orange Wafter! 🦑🍊

So after a hard fought few days spent with my dad and brother at @todber_manor_fisheries this week we did manage to get our spots working and got a few of the lakes residents on the bank! The first fish of the session came after a slow 24 hours and at 12pm while the sun was right up in the sky and the chances of a bite seemed almost impossible my middle rod ripped off and with savage one toner and I was hooked up into this powerhouse of mirror! After a hard battle in and out of the marginal rushes he finally made it into my net and was chuffed to find it was a new PB for me at 24lb 8oz! Absolutely chuffed with this fish and it was definitely the turning point of the trip and after this capture hings really started to heat up!

Tactics were small solid bags for this session fished with larger 12-15mm Bollie's spread around each rig! Hookbait being a @crbaits Squid and Plum 14mm Wafter!
