The triathlon bundle. Season's kicking off. Don't be the athlete who smashes the bike and blows up on the run.

We dial in your thresholds, fuel utilisation and training zones. We measure O2 and CO2 directly, so there's no guesswork. Just usable data.

We'll also add the RMR test. You get your baseline energy expenditure, so you can fuel your training properly.

Book the triathlon bundle.

🏃‍♂️ TAPER WEEKS ≠ SLOW WEEKS

Cutting your km's? Good.✅
Cutting your intensity? Big mistake. ❌

Most runners taper wrong they drop volume and drop intensity. Then race day comes and the legs feel flat, heavy, disconnected. 😩

Here's the fix 👇

✅ Cut the kilometers (40-60% less volume)
✅ KEEP the intensity shorter threshold efforts, same HR
✅ 1 quality session in the final week, not 3
✅ Let 14-16 weeks of training load actually absorb

Your fitness isn't lost in taper. It's revealed. ✨

Drop the junk volume. Keep the sharpness. Trust the process. 🔑

📌 Save this for your next race build

Train to make the right adaptations not just train hard, train specific.

📍 Training zones built from your physiology not a generic % of max HR. Age-based formulas guess. VO2 max testing measures your actual VT1 and VT2, so every zone is built around your numbers, not an estimate.

📍 Intensity control pace is the output, heart rate is the cost of getting there. Two runners can hit the same pace at very different physiological costs.

📍 Threshold identification knowing exactly where VT1 and VT2 sit means every session has a purpose, not a guess.

📍 Fuel utilisation find out how many gels/hour your body actually needs to hold goal marathon pace. Pace has its place, but only once you know the engine behind it.

📍 Minimise overtraining identifying your training zones means every session hits the intensity it's meant to, so easy days stay easy and hard days are actually hard.

Numbers don't lie they just tell you where to focus. 📊

Biggest weekend of action since we opened the doors 🙌

From Leon grinding out 100km and Tom putting in the work over 30km at SUM, to the crew out at Harbour 10K everyone repping Peakform this weekend.

Different races, different goals, all showing up.

To everyone who's trusted us with their testing and coaching since day one thank you. Watching you all put the work in like this is exactly why we do this.

More racing, more testing, more results to come 💪

Still tracking heart rate from your wrist? 🤔

Here's why I tell every athlete I coach to wear a chest strap instead 👇

🎯 More accurate — no motion artifact, no gaps during hard efforts

📉 Less drift wrist sensors lose the signal exactly when you need it most sprints, hills, cold mornings ❄️

🩺 ECG-based same tech as a hospital ECG, it's the actual gold standard for heart rate.

Your watch is guessing. Your chest strap is measuring. 📊

If you're training by heart rate zones the sensor matters. Wrist-based optical HR looks fine on an easy run, then falls apart the second effort spikes or your arm moves I see it in client data constantly.

Want your HR zones actually validated? That's exactly what a Peakform Testing does ✅

Exact Fit & Position 🚲
Your bike is set up to your body — saddle height, reach, crank length, and handlebar position. Testing in that same posture ensures the results reflect how you’ll actually perform in races.

Muscle Recruitment Consistency 💪
Different bikes (or ergometers) can subtly change which muscles are emphasized. Using your own bike keeps muscle activation patterns consistent with training and racing.

Gear Familiarity 🚲
You know when to shift gears for smooth cadence. That familiarity helps you maintain the right workload during the test without wasting energy on awkward transitions.

Realistic Data for Racing 📈
Since VO₂ max is about measuring your aerobic capacity under cycling-specific stress, doing it on your own bike makes the numbers more transferable to your actual race performance.

Confidence & Comfort😁
Being on your own equipment reduces distractions. You can focus purely on effort, which makes the test more reliable and less mentally taxing.

Your body is always burning fat and carbs, the ratio is what tells the real story

.Zone 2 isn’t a pace.
It isn’t a feeling.
It’s a physiological turning point.

At true Zone 2, your body is still burning mostly fat, your lactate is stable, and the metabolic cost stays low. That’s why well‑trained athletes can sit there for hours it’s efficient.

But many athletes hit that turning point way earlier than they think.

They drift into carb‑burning too soon, even when the pace feels easy.

Internally, it’s expensive and that’s how you end up bonking late‑race unless your fueling is perfect.

👉 Efficient physiology: more fat at low intensity
👉 Inefficient physiology: carbs too early = glycogen drain

Zone 2 is not a guess.
It’s not a pace chart.
It’s not “what your watch says.

It’s a measurable metabolic shift and that’s exactly what we test. We’re one of the only facilities in Sydney offering gold‑standard metabolic testing for everyday athletes. No estimates. No formulas. Just real data that shows exactly where your Zone 2 begins.

At true threshold, pace shouldn’t fade across 5‑minute reps this is the zone where your body is learning to handle higher lactate levels and actually use that lactate as fuel⚡.

Threshold is also not a single fixed pace. It shifts day‑to‑day based on:

😴 how you slept
🍽️ how well you’re fuelled
📉 stress and recovery
🏋️‍♂️ the previous day’s training
🌡️ temperature and terrain

Your pace is just the output of whatever your physiology can produce today.

Heart rate is the cost of producing that effort ❤️‍🔥.

It will vary with fatigue, hydration, heat, caffeine, glycogen, and stress but the effort the internal metabolic state is what defines threshold, not the number on the watch.

DM to book and get a detailed breakdown of your zones and thresholds.
