SUPERSTAR DJ

Don Letts the legendary film maker, DJ, pop star, cultural icon and so much more beside played a set for the ages in Newcastle last night at the HQ of institute of heavyweight good vibes , they call ZEROX.
The place was suitably rammed to its pink rafters.
Sweat was literally dripping like rain from the ceiling as bodies moved to the well worn but ever vibrant sound system.
Seeing Letts in the flesh and having the absolute pleasure of photographing him in the infamous shooting gallery green room with my friend and colleague Fabian fabian liffe will be a memory I will cherish for ever.
Now these events don’t just happen by accident.
They are curated and produced by people who understand culture and happenings.
Kristian Atkinson doesn’t just own ZEROX, he is ZEROX!
Bring all the elements together for all these people to enjoy and feel included to move as one on all of zerox`s many dance floors.
The staff here are considerate and always so helpful , a reflection of how we all want things to be.
Supporting local venues, promotors and musicians is the life blood of any scene, where ever you live.
Thank you Kristian ,You are appreciated brother.
And thank you Don, they say you should never meet your hero’s.
I’m so glad I met one of mine.

Join us for a free exhibition by local young artists. 🌀

📅 30 October – 1 November | Opening Event: Thursday 30 October 2025, 4pm–6pm
📍 Room 8, The NewBridge Project, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1AL

BreakOut is a celebration of young people’s artwork from @newcastlecollege and @walker.academy, who have joined us for a series of workshops exploring what it means to be an artist in the North East today. What do they need to BreakOut of in order to break into a career in the arts? 💥

With support from local artists, and through exploring art forms chosen by the young people themselves. Forms include ceramics, print, illustration, photography, and tattoo design. This exhibition will be led by the new generation of North East artists. 🌱

Finally got our hands on this…
-
A collection of work by members of The Collective Studio and Create/Disrupt 2023/24 - @newbridgeproject - brought together by Daniel Goodman ( @dannygoodbar ) and printed by @overlaypress
-
The Collective Studio helped connect with so many other artists - and allowed some time to position and question our role in groups/collectives/development programmes. The direct question of ‘why bother?’ came from @daniel_stewart_russell and it has become one we find useful to continue to pivot from and return to.
-
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this in some way or other - we have some scant spare copies so let me know if you’d like one.
