THANK YOU to everyone who came to our ‘farm to fork’ open day on Saturday 🥕

As well as stocking the shop and filling the veg boxes each week, it’s important for us to share insights into how we grow delicious, healthy vegetables without chemicals (especially under the challenging conditions we experienced this summer). Open days like this are a chance to welcome people onto the farm and explain a bit more about how our dedicated team grow veg in harmony with nature and why we believe it’s so crucial for our food future.

It is also a joy to connect with other local producers and suppliers. We truly value the direct relationships we have with our coffee supplier @darkhorseroastery for example. We connected with Emily in 2015 and immediately recognised a similar passion and integrity with which she approaches her business.

The same goes for the team @nettlebedcheese, Jane from Hillside Honey in Islip, Rose and her beef from @rosedalesorganicfarm, Nodene from Shands Cakes and Katie and Adrian from @happyearthsoiluk. @farmability have also become an important part of our farm community - they are with us on the farm two days a week and their hard work is invaluable.

We’re grateful to all of the stall holders who came along to meet customers and discuss in details what they make.

The hardworking food providers we work with are always keen to use our veg in the their delicious food, keeping the food economy beautifully circular!

Seeing everyone come together under the barn roof fills us with pride and we’re delighted our visitors enjoyed the day.

A wonderful evening documenting a Market Garden Tour @sandylanefarm along with yummy BBQ food by @create_terroir.

This week we hosted a campfire cooking experience for a corporate off-site strategy session.

When you change the scenery and get outdoors it enables people to be themselves and most importantly have some fun. When the pressure is on to deliver as a team, lightening the load and having some fun can increase the productivity when you get back around the table for discussion.

Once again @create_terroir used local, in season produce to produce a delicious fire cook meal, seasoned with his own elderflower and magnolia salts.

Of course, after a week of unbearable heat this was the day that the hot weather broke and it rained, but the event was still a huge success. Our rustic woodland shelters kept everyone dry … and you can toast home baked marshmallow under umbrellas!

A fantastic day on the farm 🚜

Saturday was busy and bustling as the rain held off and families arrived in droves to enjoy a day out on our farm.

Robin @create_terroir was on BBQ duty and dished up 100’s of portions of our own lamb and sausages (direct from the fields). Cathy’s @wildrose_kitchen organic salads and popcorn cauliflower went down a storm, created with plenty of produce from the polytunnels she’d grown herself as part of the market garden team.

Farmer Fred’s @farmerfred_close_farm_tetbury sheep shearing demos were incredibly popular and Farmer Bennett Jnr and Snr were kept very busy with the tractor trailer rides.

Thank you to ALL our wonderful team and @farmability for making these events happen and to all of those who came along to make it such a success.

BTS of Beyond The Fillet - our winter supper club ✨

What an incredible evening we had last night at Hampton! In collaboration with the brilliant @nvhealthuk and @create_terroir we hosted over 60 people for our Beyond The Fillet winter supper where we focused on nose to tail nutrition, the importance of pasture fed beef, food systems and our ability to have power with what we put on our plates. It was a delicious evening full of great conversation and wonderful food. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
