Camping in South Africa was never just about tents and open land. It was memory passed down through generations - families gathering beside fold out chairs, boiling kettles over small stoves, children sleeping under heavy blankets while the wind moved outside. For many people of colour, cosy camping became a language of togetherness, of making warmth in temporary spaces, of building comfort wherever the road ended.

Final Notice Studio relives this heritage through an editorial landscape where fashion and displacement meet.
A VW bus carries not only luggage, but memory itself. Every frame feels nostalgic yet surreal.

Cosy camping becomes more than an activity.
It becomes inheritance.
A story of movement, softness, and finding beauty in temporary places.

- Nathan Balie @natebalie never called it camping.
To him, it felt more like waiting.

Waiting for the next destination.
Waiting for certainty.
Waiting for the feeling of home to return.

Cosy camping was never about escape for Nate.
It was about softness during uncertainty.

This was one of my first projects I’ve worked on for 4 days it has been one of my amazing experiences in my life and I couldn’t be more happier in my life I was apart of the crew but all I could say is more is to come for me in the near foreseeable future. Thanks to everyone who I worked with, and I made friends and met the most amazing professional folks who works in the industry so thank you for all who supported me as well. 🥵🎬🔥
