Some events remind you why you do the work you do. Last night was one of those nights!

We brought together dozens of creatives, entrepreneurs, business leaders and professional services folks for Creating for Good with Paul Frank. Different backgrounds, different industries, but one shared idea: Creativity isn’t just for artists. It’s for everyone.

And yes, you can actually teach creativity as a tool for problem-solving, collaboration and thinking differently. Imagine what happens when we bring more of that into our workplaces!

I work with nonprofit @creatinggood.co on PR and strategic communications, but my involvement is becoming something much more personal. I’m incredibly excited to be joining founder @mattfromrogue and Chief Goodness Officer @revsarahheath in bringing Creating Good workshops to businesses and organizations in 2027 as part of leadership, training and professional development programs.

Creating Good isn’t just an organization that hosts creative events. It’s a movement and a platform built around the belief that creativity connects people, opens minds and inspires us to do good in the world. It’s about getting people out of their routines, sometimes out of their comfort zones and into experiences that spark connection, curiosity and possibility.

And who better to help us demonstrate that than Paul Frank?

Paul, from one Gen Xer to another, thank you. You helped create the images, characters and whimsy that defined a generation. And decades later, you’re still reminding us that imagination doesn’t have an expiration date. What a gift to share that spirit with our community!

I don’t think I’ve ever looked more beautiful.

The amazing @woods_clara_ painted me and the plant she and her family gave me for my birthday (which is bold considering my track record with keeping plants in the office alive) but hey, we’re thriving in paint and maybe this is a new leaf! Life may imitate art!

I’m beyond lucky to be among the people Clara has captured. If you haven’t seen the video of Clara giving her painting to Katy Perry and the two of them dancing together.. go watch it! Pure Joy!

Honestly, the painting and plant aren’t the only gifts this artist and family have given me…

When I started at @creatinggood.co , I had NO idea how much the members and creators @roguecollectiveoc would become such an important part of my own community. I love that we get to create the world we imagine together.

Today Clara captured me grateful, glowing, and slightly worried about that plant’s future.

Here’s to a new year and to creating more good together!

“See the good in everybody.” — Dolly Parton

We’re constantly being pushed to divide… to focus on what separates us instead of what connects us.

But what if the beginning of ending some of this division is changing what we look for?

What if, instead of searching for reasons to distrust or dismiss one another, we chose to look for the good?

At the @creatinggood.co preview night, we quoted Dolly’s words, and it feels fitting that I would begin my leadership of the foundation with this quote.

I’ve always loved Dolly…her ability to show up as her own definition of feminine big and bold, to be kind and smart and so incredibly talented. She never shrank herself, and I’ve tried to let that inspire me as a leader: to lead by being fully myself… not always something celebrated or encouraged.

Yesterday morning before we knew she had passed a coworker remarked as we drove by this @cityofcostamesa mural, “Dolly will live forever.” I think, in a strange way, she will… not just through her music, but through the things she said and the way she encouraged us to live. I went back after I got the news to the same mural and said my thank yous a kind man snapped this photo.

Seeing the good doesn’t mean ignoring harm or differences. It means changing what we start to look for and choosing not to let division have the final word.

Maybe changing the world starts there: by seeing each other differently.

Here we will cry again 🤣😆 so I’ve been renting a desk at @roguecollectiveoc for three years now and it is the coolest work space you can imagine. @iamabbyp started working here and brought a lot of good changes!

Then this year she offered Clara the artist residence and they gave a big space to use for the studio! In that moment we didn’t know how much we needed more space until we got it!

But the best part is the enviroment where Clara has freedom to create, to leave some (lots) of stain around but to be who she is. They listen, they communicate, they love her just as she is. In this scenario her disability is a small detail, as it always should be!

@mattfromrogue is always open to listen to new ideas (sometimes crazy ones) and always motivating everyone to pursue their dreams!

Clara comes every day to the studio happy!

So we do not have words to say thank you! Thank you for believing us, in Clara’s art and investing in creating a better world!
