7 YEARS AGO TODAY we got the keys. 📺✨

On August 16, 2019, Food & Lifestyle TV Network transformed from vision to reality.

It started with an idea — and became something real because of an incredible group of creators, producers, chefs, hosts, filmmakers, partners, friends, and supporters who believed in what we were building.

Today, we’re no longer a TV network. The platform has changed. The vision has evolved. But August 16 will always be our anniversary.

A reminder of what we built.
The chances we took.
The stories we told.
The people who made it possible.
And everything that came from taking that first leap.

Seven years later, Food & Lifestyle is still creating, still evolving, and still telling stories.

To everyone who was part of Food & Lifestyle TV — whether you were in front of the camera, behind it, in the audience, or watching on the other side of the screen:

💌🍴FEB DISH DUMP

This past month, I pushed beyond my usual go-tos and got more adventurous. Missing my time at @italianculinaryinstitute and continuing to define my style, I played with new flavors and made dishes that felt both familiar and completely new. Here’s what I came up with… and some of the moments in between:

1. My favorite dish from the last Ciao Bella dinner…Seared Swordfish + Eggplant Caponata + Castelvetrano Gremolata! The next one is April 18– tickets are available at the link in bio✨ 📸: @creatingwithjosh
2. This dish was for my Spelman sis’ documentary project. The morning of this, I had no idea what to make. Went to @wholefoodsatl , vibed out and this is what I came up with— Coconut Aminos glazed Lamb Chops + Cauliflower and Parsnip Puree + Sautéed Enoki + Baby King Trumpet Mushrooms
3. Been dabbling into the sweet side of things! Calabrian Chili and Chocolate Crème Brûlée from the 3rd Ciao Bella Dinner Party
4. Vanilla Bean French Toast for @host.with.the.toasts Galentines Brunch
5. Brown Butter Brioche Croutons in the making for Caesar Salad
6. Hosted a dinner with @host.with.the.toasts for my sister girl @kenya.imani_ and the theme was Age of Aquarius, @host.with.the.toasts missed no details, okay!
7. For the same dinner I prepared… Mussles + Leek Cream
8. Frutta di Mare Risotto
9. Short Rib Parpadelle
10. Lavender Crème Brûlée
11. Lobster Pasta for my Valentine’s Couples class @cookswarehouse … if you’d like to join, check out the upcoming classes!
12. Had to make my Oldie but goodie…Eggplant Bruschetta for the documentary set
13. One last Winter inspired salad before it gets warm… tahini kale salad + maple and balsamic roasted delicata and purple sweet potato + pickled onions + feta + shaved carrots.
14. Lil BTS from the lamb chop dish!
15. Steak frites for a lil late night *snack*
16. Did a seafood classics class and we made THE BEST truffle fries @cookswarehouse

Five chefs, five standout dishes, and a room full of food lovers—it doesn’t get much better than that.

I attended the kickoff of the annual Chef Battle event, put on by @chefnicoshumpert , who has over 10 years of culinary experience and a track record of hosting successful private dining experiences. From the energy in the room to the incredible citrus-inspired dishes (and the top-tier drinks from Edmond’s Honor Bourbon), the night exceeded all expectations.

From what I’ve heard, more of these chef battles will be thrown throughout the year, so I’ll keep you guys posted on the next one!
