We’ve long been champions of the off-season. Big Bend in the heat of summer. The South of France or the coast of Sjælland in the dead of winter. Mexico during the rainy months, when afternoons are synonymous with torrential downpours. And Croatia as the days get shorter, the sea gets colder and the crowds fade. When a place is given room to breathe, we are too.

We try to foster that kind of forced slowness, time away from emails, deadlines and to-do lists, in our daily routine. Our sunrise and sunset walks are often the roots of our best ideas and our most inspired selves. But in a world that gives little space for actual pause—where relentless momentum, nonstop communication and endless production can feel like near requirements—we often need something even more intentional, more prolonged, more purposeful. For us, that’s usually a camping excursion replete with expansive views and elaborate meals or a road trip somewhere remote and removed.

This November, it’s a trip to San Canzian in Istria for The Autumn Reset, a Creative Voyage retreat that we’ve been developing with our closest collaborator and longtime confidante Mario. This one is cool because it’s not just us. We’re taking a hiatus, a brief hibernation, a life recess—whatever you want to call it—with a curated group of likeminded peers, which we can only hope will include you. Details and application at creative.voyage and in bio 🍂

In the Mirror is the first book dedicated to the practice of @chidywayne and the very first title published under the @creative.voyage imprint.

To bring this project to life, we paired a fully bound Wicotex® Naturlinen #cover with delicate pastel foil stamping across the front, back and spine, printing the book on Magno Natural uncoated paper to enhance its tactile character.

quietter side of my work
@chidywayne & his space on film 2025-2026

I believe the world is carried by a handful of dreamers.

/years of collecting fragments of other creator’s worlds.

Chidy’s is one of my favorites to be and the one explored the most.

This conversation is a very special one for me.

The latest episode of the Creative Voyage Podcast features Dr. James Hollis, a Jungian analyst, teacher and author based in Washington, D.C.

James is one of my favorite authors and certainly the writer and thinker who has had the most positive impact on my life over the last decade. I have read and re-read many of his books, and I often return to them when I need orientation, courage or a better question.

We recorded this conversation last year, and I am deeply grateful that he generously gave me his time. At 85, he speaks with the rare clarity of someone who has spent a lifetime listening deeply to the inner life.

Trained in Zurich, Switzerland, Hollis is the author of twenty-two books, including Swamplands of the Soul, The Eden Project, Living an Examined Life and his latest book, co-written with L.A.-based artist Enrique Martínez Celaya, Tending the Fire: Creativity, Purpose, and the Unfolding Self.

We talk about anxiety, depression and creativity, living an examined life, dreams and the unconscious, the meaning of soul, midlife and the second half of life, facing fear, finding meaning, creative discipline and what it means to live a larger creative life.

If you only listen to one episode of my podcast, I would humbly suggest making it this one.

I believe it carries a message many of us need right now. We live in a world that constantly pulls us toward external expectations, noise and distraction, while the quieter and more important call often gets neglected: the summons of our soul and of our own raw creative nature.
