It’s been a year!! My Bohemian Kitchen has now been out in the world for 12 whole wonderful months.

I’ve been overwhelmed by the amazing response worldwide to something that is so much a part of my soul.

All the support along the way, from close family to friends to total strangers. Thank you to every single one of you.

I hope the pages are getting dogeared and recipes marked with notes as your books get more well-used.

My picture book Ghost, Ghoul and Little Mouse published by @oxfordchildrens is out now! Thanks to my lovely agent @creativeauthors

Little Mouse lives alone in a dark, creaky old house. He dreams of having friends to share meals with, play games with, and enjoy adventures alongside. But life is quiet and lonely – until two unexpected housemates arrive.

When Ghost and Ghoul move in, they are so busy arguing that they barely notice Little Mouse at all. Both are convinced they deserve to be the house’s official haunter, and neither is willing to back down. To settle the dispute, they decide to hold a competition to determine who is the scariest.

As the rivalry grows more ridiculous, Little Mouse watches from the sidelines. But he may have a clever surprise in store. With a little creativity and a lot of heart, he shows Ghost and Ghoul that friendship can be far more important than winning.

Filled with gentle humour, playful spooky fun, and endearing characters, this heartwarming story is perfect for young readers who enjoy light-hearted Halloween tales with a positive message.

On account of it being the first day of the alleged official “national mushroom month”…but more importantly, coming into the most amazing time of year for mushrooms, I wanted to share some of my favourite photos from my second book Shroom! Which, I can’t quite believe has now been out in the world for 6 months

I might be tooting my own horn, or maybe it’s encouraged by the smell of the pot of chilli that is bubbling away on my hob as I write this, but my mouth has been watering choosing this delicious selection of photos. Captured beautifully by @crisbarnett

I put so much love into these recipes and I really do hope there are people out there enjoying them as much as I do.

For some easy, healthy, mid-week (or weekend feasting) veggie meals, pick up a copy of Shroom. Or give it as a gift, it’s the perfect time of year 🍄‍🟫🥰

⭐️Book Review ⭐️

Q: What ocean creature would you be? 🐙

This little picture book ended up giving us one of those unexpectedly special moments 🥰 I started narrating the pages for my 5yr old, putting the story into my own words. After a few pages, she began adding her own thoughts, matching the pictures in her own way. Halfway through, my 8yr old joined us and before long, we were all contributing ❤️

What started as a simple, slightly tentative story turned into something shared: full of imagination, laughter and their personalities shining through. It became a moment of connection, the three of us building a story together, the kind of memory that will stick with you.

My 5yr old’s favorite was the shiny seashell necklace (no surprise there!) 🐚 She wanted to be like the jelly fish because they reminded her of fairies.. 🪼Or be a shiny magical seashell.

While my 8yr old thought a lot about the plastic that showed up in some of the pages. She felt passionate about wanting to do a beach cleanup and coming up with ways to help keep our oceans clean! 🌊 Her biggest idea was to have a giant strainer ship (she got her idea from when we strain pasta) that could magically detect plants and animals so they wouldn’t get stuck while it swept the ocean free of garbage 🐠🪸

This is an absolutely beautiful wordless picture book. The artwork speaks for itself and tells a lovely story. The illustrations are all so beautiful and I love the colors. We don’t get many wordless picture books but I really love how they can tell such amazing stories without any words. I also can’t think of a better day to share this than Earth Day as it does show how sea creatures can suffer if we pollute the oceans.
