An absolute pleasure and honour to be working alongside two pioneers of British dub: Dennis Bovell and Mad Professor. At The V&A East, last night.

A live performance-lecture, of How We Made It, explored dub as a practice of innovation, adaptation, and sonic imagination.

Programmed in dialogue with The Music is Black: A British Story! The masters demonstrating techniques I adapted and still use in my mixing today. I also got to meet the lovely Simone, Daughter of the late great, queen of Lovers Rock, Louisa Marks 🙏🏼

Chopping it up with King Sting! @OriginalDJDlux On the topic of how we evolved from producing Breakbeat #Hardcore & #Jungle before branching out into the #UKGarage Taking @DejavuFm to the world and stumbled into a musical culture that would go onto take the world by storm, before the term #UKGrime was ever used. For many, this was a very common thing within our local area & circles. I have always felt, one of the biggest influences on new forms comes from people with the ability to create their own unique sound, when doors are closed. I recall many youngsters trying to break out, not being allowed into certain scenes. #ukgarage

During our Back2Back takeover event at V&A East, over the weekend, Sting & Dlux featured in a panel discussion talking about our personal experiences and the evolution of our music and culture. Not one person made it all, we were all inspired by another.

What an amazing experience, I am so proud to have been able to showcase just some of our history and heritage. Back2Back Takeover of the V&A East Museum. It was so important that the real local community and often forgotten peoples have a mention and get recognition for shaping British culture. Connecting the dots and Creating new memories along the way. People want to hear more about the moments and untold stories.
Particularly exactly how our East London manor played a key role. We talking original @dejavufm Studio install, Telepathy Insight with Sting, @BrainRecords Masterclass, and so much more. We have to big up @RendezvousProject @NiaArchives @UpYaArchives and @V&AEast for sending for us and for all the contributors Chris Hansen, Felt Sound System, the list goes on & on…. Shall we do it again? More to come.. #Arch421.

Waterden Road! If you know you know. Big Bad Deja returned to our home to reclaim the signal as part of the Back2Back Celebration. Big up all massive and crew, from 1995 we still represent the sound of the underground. We also take a moment to respect our family especially the ones no longer here with us.
