And it happened! A huge thank you to everyone who came along for a peek at Fabrizio’s show on Weds - was a great, busy, vibrant night and Fabrizio was in full flow! Thanks to the amazing @beatsoncharity for being there and helping us raise so much money! Still a few posters available and a few prints - raffle tickets still on sale from Monday at the 6 th floor hub. Message if you are interested in a print,poster or raffle ticket. Thanks also to the brilliant students from Marketing for all their help! Phew…. Time for a wee rest!

Wow what a great week in life drawing with 1st year HNC and HND. Students starting to use line, tone and colour to explore form. They showed structure and tackled new materials and tricky poses! Well done, such great work starting to appear.

It was such an honour to host @thelatedoctorwhiten this week who came in to teach our 1st years all about anatomy for their life drawing class. Here she is in full flow, explaining how the pelvic ring supports the skeleton and means we can push off to walk using our strong leg muscles. We learned so much, thank you!

Please join us tomorrow 29 Nov 2023 4:30-7pm for the preview of SMOGWARE, an exhibition by Applied Arts students. The exhibition is in the Ralph Cowan Gallery, on floor 7 of City of Glasgow College @cofgcollege , 190 Cathedral Street. The project was possible thanks to the collaboration between Applied Arts, Ruth Impey @makeitglasgow and Annemarie Piscaer co-founder of @smogware and @lab_air_ .

Thank you @glasgowcc for helping in making this trip possible. The exchange is part of a long relationship (almost 40 years) between the city of Nuremberg and Glasgow. This is such an incredible experience and the students gained new skills and abilities in a completely new context. Skills and abilities they will be able to share with their peers. Congratulations to the three winners of this years’ Performance Costume 2023 competition inspired by The Insect Play.

The three prizes are awarded by the Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Glasgow @tradeshall . In the pictures you can see the first @coffeeandcakeplease (Moth / pics 1-3) second @ness_artanddesign (Butterfly / pics 6-7) and third @icantmakethings (Snail / pics 4-5) winner. Also a highly commended costume by @lauralovinceramics (Beetle / pics 8-9) was chosen. Laura’s costume is modelled by @deedotheart
