Four weeks. One bold brief. 🚀

We once again teamed up with Uncommon Creative Studio to give our students a live agency experience - responding to the challenge of creating unity in an increasingly divided nation 🤝🇬🇧

From collaboration to final presentations, they experienced the realities of agency life alongside industry professionals 🏙️

Our in-house Creative Lab agency are proud to connect our students with industry and prepare them for the future of creative work💙

Ravensbourne’s industry connections are unparalleled and our students are lucky enough to be working with @uncommon.creative.studio in Farringdon 🏙️

Over the next few weeks, Rave students will work with the team at Uncommon to develop an impactful campaign for social change. If an idea comes up to standard it will be put into production 🎯

This gives students and incredible breadth of experience in a modern, tech-savvy creative studio - which looks incredible on their CV 📝

This event took place on campus & was about how students, graduates & young people can use their interests, hobbies or passions to develop professional skills as well as creating opportunities for themselves. As a games development Alumnus I set out to collaborate with members of the community to come in to share their expertise, experience & advice to attendees as well as bringing in 3 great brands showcasing their games or services. First of many events in providing expert advice that works for young people inside & outside of education in the creative tech or nerd culture space.

Finally unpacked the hundreds of books Luke kindly gave us so can now post…
What an immense two weeks of meeting amazing people, messy tables, learning and frolicking around Birmingham. It really has been an anti-placement placement, it’s been special.

Thank you Luke for putting all that you do into helping us become better designers and people- you have so much care for so many!

Thank you to all of the amazing designers, you inspired me to no end and taught me many things that I’ll take with me as I look to starting my career in industry🌟

Rave LATE: What Next?

On 19th February, at Ravensbourne University London, we’ll be tackling some of the big questions around what comes next after graduation - and what happens after that.

From first jobs and internships to unexpected career paths and industry realities, our speakers will share honest insight into life beyond university.
We’re excited to be joined by:

✨ DINES ® ( @_dines ) from Studio Blup ( @studio_blup ) on his unique creative journey
✨Dom Edwards ( @domedwardsdesign ) and Lauren Archer ( @laurenarchermusic )
from The Arena ( @thearenauk ) on networking and mentorship
✨ Miho Aishima ( @mihoaishima ) and Eva Bashford-Harrison ( @evabashfordharrison ) from Design Bridge and Partners ( @design_bridge )
on careers in design, strategy and client leadership
✨ James McLearie from Represent Recruitment ( @we_are_represent ) on recruiters, representation and when (and why) to speak to them

A genuinely inspiring evening for anyone thinking about their future, whether you’ve got a clear plan or you’re still figuring it out.

That’s why we’ve opened this event up to Ravensbourne students, recent graduates and the Alumni Network.

This is a free event. All we ask is that you book your seat via the link in bio.

Huge shoutout to Jay Heimsath, Niall Corcoran and Maciej Kowalewski for the brilliant promo graphics 🔥🔥

We’re proud to celebrate a Ravensbourne student, whose winning design for Kopparberg UK is now being used on branded pint glasses in pubs and bars across the UK and beyond. 🍎🍺

More than 50 students took part in the live industry brief, with Becky Smith named the winner. She received £9,500 to cover one year of course fees, while two runners-up each received £500 prizes. 🎓✨

“Getting the chance to work to a professional standard as a student has given me valuable knowledge to take forward in my career.” – Becky Smith
