Visit OMOI on Friday, September 18th from 1 to 6PM
for a pop-up with Kenni Field, @creativeoutlet___ , local pottery artist and creative 🌀

Artist Bio:
I am...
An afrolatinx potter, land steward, teacher, student, water baby, sun-catcher—
From “A Small Place” called Roatán. My mother is red clay; my father, the Atlantic Ocean.
I am studying and appreciating the wisdom of young ones, old ones, and non-human communities.
I am barefoot in the garden, digging in the dirt. I am singing my sorrows at Dahlak Paradise at the Pocket Flowers Community Jam.
I am meditating on utility, diaspora, serenity, protection, despair, apocalypse visioning, weaponry and healing.
I am raging against fascism, shielding myself from its invasion and combing my insides for its shrapnel.

crypts, cathedrals, and old city 𖦹°❦꩜

some highlights from the first half of my residency

from looking at blueprints online to seeing the gateway in person at Christ Church, witnessing one of the few makers marks hammered into the form (images 1-3)

to a divine studio visit with the talented Kenni Field, another admirer of water and the green patina on iron. (image 4)

Arriving in the early morning, before the other tourists, to admire a time when craftsmen could make a living off of adorning temples dedicated to our gods and our dead.

locations pictures:
The Woodlands Cemetery
St Clement's Episcopal Church
Christ Church
Laurel Hill East Cemetery

***Too many pics to post. All unedited pics of documented ironwork will be available, hopefully, in a future digital folder available upon request***

Helloooooo creative peopleeeee! If you want to explore clay and pottery in a cozy place, sign up for a slot to make pottery in a basement home studio with @creativeoutlet___
They are an amazing ceramicist and they are opening space to share in that with like minded creatives!

Here are their words on this endeavor:
“This September I’ll be experimenting with hosting open studio sessions. In these trying times I’d like to offer you a warm cup of tea, a soothing spot to rest, and some community to seek connection and creative expression with. As I’m dipping my toes back into hosting at home, I know l don’t have all the kinks worked out yet, but trust that together we can sort it all in due time. Please reach out if you have any questions or feedback. The link to learn more/sign up is in my bio. Love you.”

Come cozy clayyyyyyy!!!
