Almost every plastic toothbrush you’ve ever used is still out there.

Around 300 of them in a lifetime. Each one takes hundreds of years to break down, and even then it just turns into tiny bits of plastic.

I’m done adding to the pile. 🌱

I’ve switched to the @crescent_nest sonic toothbrush. You keep the handle and just swap the head. When a head wears out, the bamboo base goes straight in the compost.

It’s a proper sonic clean with five modes, and every brush sold plants a native tree. Their bamboo charcoal floss lives right next to it on my bench now.

I only found out recently that using toothbrushes with plastic bristles exposes you to high levels of microplastics over time. 😮 Thankfully it is possible to use plastic free toothbrushes!

@crescent_nest make an excellent electric toothbrush that has bristles made from castor oil. It’s also been tested and shows low levels of emf. Many electric toothbrushes show very high readings for emf which is not ideal when the device is being used in your head.

Robelle Farm make toothbrushes made from bamboo with horsehair bristles. My toddler happily uses this toothbrush so it’s a great option for kids. I purchase these from @shop_raw_milk_and_honey

Make sure when looking at bamboo toothbrushes that you check what the bristles are made of. Many of them actually use plastic bristles unfortunately.

the toxic burden on our body truly can go unnoticed and add up throughout the day. My husband works a trade and loves sweet treats / cafes buuutttt a lot of the controllable factors are taken care of 🫡

my biggest tip for getting your hubby on board with being low tox is to lead by example, constantly share new info of the effects it has on the family (I do obsessively so), and when you purchase new things, choose a better option 👌

He’s come to love a lot of these, and others he can’t tell the difference.
The only skincare he uses every single day without fail is @liminalelixirs bc it’s an easy balm, then loves @muktiorganics when I do it for him 😆

He finally loves electric toothbrushes again bc this one doesn’t break @crescent_nest , and i am stoked it’s low emf

I think the rest of them I’ve added explanations. We’re heading into our preconception era so it’s becoming a lot more intense, I’ll share as we go along 😘😘
