I have been working on this track for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA). In light of the Australian Government's recent announcement to reduce funding for PCFA specialist care nurses next year, I stand firmly with the foundation to oppose these cuts. This track represents my contribution to their ongoing campaign.

The decision to end funding for the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing Program directly threatens a crucial lifeline for over 300,000 Australian men and their families navigating the complex challenges of a prostate cancer diagnosis. For over a decade, these specialist nurses have provided vital clinical expertise in managing tumour-specific side effects, including incontinence and sexual dysfunction, while serving as a compassionate anchor during recovery.

Stripping away this dedicated care network risks leaving patients in a clinical vacuum, and I am proud to use my music to support PCFA's call to protect and continue this essential service.

I’m so thankful for you, 365 days of each year.

When I needed community most, I came online as BabbleOnBrooke. That was 10 years ago and when I say that my life depended on it, I mean it completely.

At that time - due to a severe neck injury caused 4 years prior - I had been spending my days laying flat on a massage table, staring at the ceiling, struggling to breathe, being spoonfed, speaking through blinking as needed, receiving home healthcare and deeply depressed. It was the last year I tried my best to communicate what was going on to my family, only to have the information fall on deaf ears, be ignored, and so much worse.

I needed a reason to keep going, when every breath was so difficult.

I needed a light at the end of the tunnel.

I needed to know that my life mattered.

God sent me a sign to download an app where people were showing their lives in real time. I had already been housebound for a year after 3 years of deteriorating health with nothing else helping, being released from prolonged stays in the cardiac unit after told to say my goodbyes.

This app allowed me to see the outside world, and brought me hope. Upon taking to live-streaming myself, and becoming a pioneer in the technology that is now so mainstream, I was able to connect with strangers from around the globe who immediately cared.

That meant the WORLD.

(It also came with its own set of challenges, but we’ll save that for another day.)

For now, I just want you to know that you are important to me. I’m grateful for you and that you are in my online community - which to me, is a GIANT part of my life.

And if you ever feel like you need support and aren’t getting it, I strongly suggest seeking it online. Strangers can be the angels your soul needs. They certainly were for me.🙏

our power just came back on. YAY! they said our area would be out until wednesday. it was hot today but we opened the windows and cooled the house the old fashioned way ;) i feel for the people who are still without power.

am using hubby's hotspot to post this cuz the cable is also down. the pic? I'm playing SimCity BuildIt now. this is one of my towns, it was the only pic I had ready to go :)

It's my 2-year #Periversary!!!💗Wow. If you had told me 2 years ago that I would still be here, let alone have an amazing, loving and supportive community around the world, I would have looked at you like...well, I'm not sure what. But it definitely would have been challenging to imagine that possibility. Yet here we are, and we've seen each other through ups and downs, we've witnessed the world changing before our eyes, we've supported each other's causes and projects, we've been there for each other for something as simple - and frequent- as a sunrise or sunset. And no matter what, even if months go by with no word, we are there for each other and know that we'll always find our way back.
