Hunting for gala dress. I think I found it. Felt like cosplay with Sarah at @crisconsignment. Gave myself time to explore. Who else finds joy in the hunt? #vintage #styleinspo #shopping @maisonvalentino 🛍️

Day 2 – San Francisco: Treasure, Tension & Thrift
Today was a masterclass in contrast—between clutter and curation, between retail precision and charitable purpose.

🛍️ Goodwill kicked off the day. It’s iconic, but today’s store underdelivered—too dense in parts, too sparse in others. I walked away with a find, but also a question: how does scale dilute storytelling? Still, their job-creation mission shone bright, and that’s no small thing.

✨ Crossroads Trading Co. was a revelation. Not a charity—but a certified social enterprise—and it shows. Curated racks, style categories, a local sourcing ethos, and a sweet 10% off for Instagram followers. It’s what happens when you put retail first and wrap purpose around it.

🛋️ Fillmore Street was heaven. Sue Fisher King, 46R, Nest—places where design, vintage, and sustainability co-exist beautifully. They reminded me that “preloved” doesn’t have to mean “compromise.”

🤝 Then came a deep dive into Polk Street with the city’s Office of Economic & Workforce Development. These stores—ReLove, CRIS, Moody Goose, WARREN, Stuff—aren’t just chic, they’re powerhouses of reuse. Labels like Gucci, Chanel, Issey Miyake, and Comme des Garçons? All there, all accessible.

🏳️‍🌈 Out of the Closet brought it back to the heart—queer-led, cause-driven, and charmingly chaotic. No big score for me, but a big soft spot for their values.

♻️ Reformation is a future-forward fashion lab. Vintage. Circular. Deadstock remade into ready-to-wear. Their tagline: “Being naked is #1 most sustainable. We’re #2.” speaks volumes—and so does their global rise.

💥 And then—Community Thrift. One store, 200+ partner charities, one killer model. They handle retail. Charities get paid. No messy donation bins, just strategic impact. Curated, reasonably priced, and full of energy. I’ve asked to come back and learn more.

🎉 Finally, I hit up the Thursday Night Valencia Street Party in the Mission—music, vintage, tacos, and electric community vibes.

This is why I’m here. One shop, one story, one community at a time.
From spreadsheets to sequins, San Francisco is showing me the future of secondhand.
